This is a 22x56 cargo carrier and is only designed for 2 inch trailer hitches only. It has a weight capacity of 400 pounds. This lightweight polypropylene cargo carrier is a perfect accessory for you car, SUV or truck. With its lightweight design and solid steel support the carrier is able to carry 400 pounds. The carrier platform itself is 25 inches x 56 inches. It assembles rather easily and has a raised bar on it so it actually sits 2 inches above your trailer hitch on your vehicle. This cargo carrier does come with a variety of attachment points to tie down whatever you need to on it. You can see there are some on the ends and some on the sides as well as the rear. A good reason to have one of these in your garage is due to its composite construction. This is really great for the person who goes on long road trips or if part of the commute is on gravel roads.

If dirt or grime gets kicked up on another cargo carrier it will get scratched up and rust will ensue. All cargo carriers will need to be cleaned or repainted at one point, but with this polypropylene tray and steel construction you have a lot less of that to worry about. Difficult to assemble. Once assembled appears solid. Have not yet mounted it to the Expedition. Trying to figure out the best way for one person to mount the unit unassisted.18072

Cargo Carrier Mounted this carrier on a Polaris 400 Ranger to carry a portable spear house on which would free up more space in the box to carry more equipment for the sport. The carrier worked excellent in temperatures down to -35 degrees without any problems in northern Minnesota. This is a well built, easy to use product4389

This hitch can carry 4 bikes with the addition of an adapter. I didn't bother with the adapter since my van was older and messed up. As a woman, I found this much easier than lifting bikes up to put on the higher racks. It is also much more versatile since you can throw bags of cement, mulch, boxes, etc. on it. Someone hit mine and cracked it, but it's still useable - best to get the fold up one. I can't find the bike rack adapter now though.3063

Just as good as steel ! I've only had this for a short time, and I must say it was pretty easy to put together. I needed a little more space to go to the dump and this fit the bill. I also plan on using it for traveling. I suggest the etrailer.com Extra Large Cargo Carrier Bag, 20 cubic feet cargo bag to go with it. I was surprised how well constructed that bag really was. I would also like to ad that you buy 12' ratchet tiedowns, you'll thank me later...4 should do it.1646

Folding Polypropylene Cargo Carrier
The cargo carrie you selected does not fold up when not in use. We do carry a polypropylene carrier that folds # 7507. This is essentially the same carrier as you selected but with the hinge for folding. The only consideration is the length between the center of the hitch pin hole and the carrier when folded. This item has a folded measurement of 6-3/4 inches, so be sure you measure for clearance before ordering. If I can be of further assistance let me know.

Should a Hitch Extender be Used with Rola 22 x 56 Cargo Carrier # 59500 On A Chevy Conversion Van
Using an extension like the Hidden Hitch Extender, part # 80307, with the Rola 22 x 56 Cargo Carrier, part # 59500 would gain you more clearance, but it would also lower the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. If your hitch has a 500 pound tongue weight capacity, using the extension would cut that amount in half. This would mean that the carrier you choose and all the gear on it could weigh no more than 250 lbs. I would recommend the Curt 20 x 60 inch Railed Cargo Carrier,
