  • Will Lift Up Brackets Included with Weight Distribution System 49569 Fit a 6 Inch Tall Trailer Frame
  • The lift up brackets included with this weight distribution system will not fit trailer frames wider than 2 1/4 inches. It will fit trailer frames that are 6 inches high but not 6 inches wide. The height of the tube does not matter with these brackets, just the width.

  • Installing a Weight Distribution Hitch to an Enclosed Frame Trailer
  • If you are talking about a pole tongue trailer then there are adapters available, item # RP3280 and item # RP58393, that you can use to connect to the frame and then attach the brackets. The RP3280 will not work with the Reese SC Weight Distribution Systems, while the RP58393 will work with all Reese systems, with the exception of those equipped with the Dual-Cam Sway Control. If you have an A-Frame trailer that is enclosed in the center then you can use the bolt on chain hanger kit, item # R

  • Will Trailer Sway be Caused by Using a Weight Distribution System to Reduce Vehicle Sag
  • Using a weight distribution system, like the Reese Pro Series RB2 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit, item # 49569, will not cause sway, and does not necessarily reduce your tongue weight. Weight distribution systems distribute the weight to the vehicle and trailer axles, help to reduce vehicle sag, keep the trailer and vehicle level for proper towing and help to eliminate sway in many instances. If you do encounter sway, a sway control bar, item # 83660, can be added to the system to help

  • Is Pro Series RB2 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit # 49569 Height Adjustable
  • On the Pro Series RB2 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit, # 49569, the shank itself can be turned up or down. The head unit is adjustable on the shank in 1-1/4 inch intervals for a max drop of 1-1/4 inches or max rise of 6 inches. So you are correct, it is adjustable. This in part allows for the proper leveling of the trailer. Since this system comes with the shank, you would just need a properly sized ball. You could use # 19286 (2-5/16 inch diameter) or # A-90 (2 inch diameter). I have inclu

  • Can a Pro Series Weight Distribution System be Used on a 20 Foot Long Horton Hauler Car Trailer
  • The spring bars that come with the Pro Series Weight Distribution System, # 49569, measure 29 inches long from the center of the end that fits in the head to the center point between the 2 bolt holes where the chains attach. If you have 34 inches from the center of the ball (when in the coupler) to the end of the frame where it meets the body of the trailer then it should fit, though it will probably be a tight fit. What you could do is to get Chain Hangers, # RP58305, and use them in place o

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System To Tow a Pop-Up Camper Trailer With a 2007 Honda Pilot
  • When choosing a weight distribution system, you will want to select one that encompasses the tongue weight of the trailer when fully loaded. This weight is usually between 10 to 15 percent of the GTW weight. I would recommend going with the Pro Series weight distribution system # 49568, which is closest to the range of your tongue weight. Using a system that is designed for heavier trailer loads can lead to poor performance of the system. You could also use the Pro Series system # 49569,

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2004 Toyota 4Runner Towing a Boat Trailer with Surge Brakes
  • First, you will need to establish the trailer tongue weight loaded and ready to tow. Tongue weight is usually 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight plus the weight of any gear loaded in the tow vehicle that is behind the rear axle. At 5,000 pounds the trailer will have a tongue weight of 500 to 750 pounds. You will need a system that encompasses that range. Another thing to keep in mind is that only certain weight distribution systems can be used with surge brakes. Based on this an

  • Measuring Wheel Well Height Before and After Installing Weight Distribution on a 2004 Chevy Tahoe
  • When measuring the height at the wheel wells like you have done, you want the system to be adjusted so that the height change is with a half inch (higher or lower) than before the system was installed. A full inch would indicate that the system has to be fine-tuned a little. I have included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution for you. I am not sure what all each manufacturer considers when they come up with the gross combined weight ratings for the various models. The GMT 410 was

  • Where do the Lift Brackets for Pro Series Weight Distribution Install on a Trailer Frame
  • The center of the lift brackets will be about 30 inches back from the center of the ball hole on the coupler. The brackets are about 5-1/2 inches long. Based on the measurements you have given it does not seem like this set up will work for you. But I do have another option for you to consider. You can use a system with chains but then use Chain Hangers, # RP58305. These hangers replace the lift up brackets and attach to the side of the trailer frame (trailer frame can be no wider than 2-1/4
