- Weight Distribution System for a 2000 Ford Windstar Towing a Camper
- There are several fundamental differences between the three models of weight distribution systems you have chosen. I will start with the 350 Mini, product # RP66041. This is a great model for trailers with the maximum tongue weight of 350 pounds and maximum towing weight of 3500 pounds. With the figure you noted, this sounds like where your vehicle and trailer are coming in, (if you accounted for the trunk weight).
Moving up a notch is the Pro Series RB2, product # 49568. This weight distrib

- Installation of the Pro Series RB2 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit , Item # 49568
- You will need to measure the trailer frame to see if the mounting location (see instructions) for the Pro Series RB2 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit, item # 49568, will work. The center of your ball coupler to the attachment point on the trailer should be approximately, 27 to 30 inches. You can adjust this slightly to make the system fit with the propane bottles and battery holder on your trailer but the recommendation is that the chains be as perpendicular to the trailer frame as is possible.

- Which Weight Distribution and Sway Control System Is Recommended for a Jeep Grand Cherokee
- The best sway control is provided by dual cam high performance sway control. I would suggest the Reese Strait-Line Hitch 600 lbs TW / 12,000 lbs GTW, item # RP66072 which will handle any load that will be within the weight capacity of your vehicle. This weight distribution and sway control system works to keep sway from starting rather than just stopping it once it begins, like other systems do. With this kit you will also need a Weight Distributing Shank, like item # AMAC1.

- Which Weight Distribution System is Best for Use with Surge Brakes
- Weight distribution systems that utilize snap-up brackets and chains are not recommended for use with surge brakes. The tension of the chains will reduce the movement of the trailer coupler against the ball resulting in less brake force, or none at all, being applied to trailer brakes.
The best weight distribution systems that are recommended for use with surge brake systems are the High Performance Reese SC Wight Distribution systems. I have added a link to all of the weight distribution sys

- Weight Distribution Setup with Sway Control for a 6,500 LB, 600 LB TW Trailer On 2009 Chevy 1500 4wd
- I would recommend the Reese Strait-Line Hitch 800 lbs TW / 12,000 lbs GTW, item # RP66073, this is the best system we have and actually works to keep sway from happening rather than stop it after it starts like other systems. The tongue weight that you mentioned falls right in the middle of the weight rating for this system so it is the perfect match for your trailer and would allow you to upgrade in the future if needed.
Along with the weight distribution system you will need a weight distri

- Can Weight Distribution Be Used on a Fold Away Pole Tongue on a Boat Trailer
- Usually, with a pole tongue trailer, you would just use a pull tongue adapter, like # RP3280, and attach the brackets for a compatible weight distribution system to it. But since you have a fold away tongue, I called to see what Reese said about using that with a pole tongue adapter and weight distribution.
For them, it will not be a problem, but, you will need to contact the trailer manufacturer to determine if the fold away tongue is capable of handling the stresses from the weight distrib

- Are CURT Trailer Hitches Compatible with Pro Series Weight Distribution Systems
- A CURT Trailer Hitch, like # C13068, is compatible with weight distribution systems made by Pro Series. On any hitch, you would check the installation instructions to determine if the hitch is rated for use with weight distribution. You will also want to check the vehicle owners manual to determine if the vehicle manufacturer allows the use of weight distribution.
To determine the correct weight distribution system for you, you will want a system that has a tongue weigh capacity range that en
