This easily installed universal towing mirror will mount to any mirror with its conforming rubber knobs and securing clamps this mirror will attach easily to any mirror you have on your vehicle. The total length of the mirror is 18 inches and the mirror itself is 5x5-3/4 inches. Before we can install this mirror there is a little bit of prep we have to do. First make sure the mirror itself on your vehicle is nice and clean, you do not want to trap any dust or dirt between the pads and the mirror and ruin the finish on your vehicle. First of what we need to do is install these pads, and they are just self adhesive. While we are on the subject with these knobs, we will show you how adjustable they are. The knobs actually spin up and down so you can raise the height of them. This knob here will actually spin back down to lock it into place. That way it will help conform to the curvature of your mirror.
Also these are clamps right here that actually will clamp onto the mirror itself. The edge will go here and push this flap down and it will secure it into place. Let us go ahead and install this on our vehicle. We will need to do a couple of test fits by pushing it against your original mirror and just see if you need to adjust these feet or not. It looks like we are just going to leave it all the way down and go from there and see how it works. We need to loosen our straps up next and I will show you how to do that. To loosen these straps up, we have to pull the knob straight out, then you can pull them out and get your slack. At this point we can go ahead and take these clips and install them on the mirror. Push down a little bit and pull them in. We will do the same thing on the bottom. Once you have them clipped in, make sure you center it the way you want it, then push that back knob back in. Now we can go ahead and tighten that knob up. You might want to wiggle it every now and then just to make sure you take up some slack too.
Give it a few tugs to make sure, re-inspect your feet and, it looks like here, this one actually pulled away. So we need to undo it and redo the feet because you want to have all of these connecting to the mirror. Spin that out and there you have it and it is really not going to go anywhere. Also you notice there are a couple of extra hooks and an extra pad that came with it. These are in case you mess one up or lose it and the hooks are for different style mirrors, some mirrors have casings that are thicker than some others, so that way it helps out for different vehicles, makes it more universal. Another nice note about this is it actually has an air vent on the side which helps cut down on wind resistance and probably less wind vibration too. There you have it for part # 40375 from Cipa, the universal strap on towing mirror.

Does not stay put I also have had to put up with the *reed* whistle, annoying but tolerable (will try twisting the strap next use). You do have to exercise caution when attaching to vehicle mirror. The clip hooks can interfere with the vehicle mirror adjustment. I also found that no matter what I tried, with all 3 feet firmly on the back of my mirror and the straps as tight as possible the mirrors would gradually move around to the point they were unusable. Droops like crazy No problems with noise for me- but the way these mirrors mount is not secure. It relies on tension in the strap to hold its three legs against the tow vehicle's mirror. Unfortunately, most of the mirror's weight is outboard of those three legs, and the thing droops like crazy. We will be supplementing the mounting system with a bungee or two. 1056

OK, difficult to install We used these on our '02 Durango. They worked OK, but were hard to install without messing up the regular mirror angle. They do make a reed vibration, but if you twist the strap and connect, it prevents that. That is an old truckers trick to prevent vibrations of tie down straps.763

Pretty good After trying numerous towing mirrors, these are by far the best for the money. They shake slightly, but nowhere near enough to affect vision. What makes these great is you can adjust the mirror lense without adjusting the entire housing (like a factory mirror). I bought two. On one of them, the adjuster knob seems a little flimsy. The other is solid.2492

CIPA - universal mirrors Despite claims - any distance off paved roads and even on rough pavement, the mirros move out of position and are thus useless. The idea is great, but appears they were not sufficiently tested in less than perfect conditions. Specifically, we have a 2005 Dodge Duranco and the adjustable legs simply do not adjust adequately to the mirror to keep them in place and in line, no matter how well tightened. On perfect smooth road they are fine, but as soon as there is even minor roughness they shift out of line.483

Noisey In centain wind conditions. Usually right angles to the wind, the straps vibrate resulting in loud reed sound.121

Worked ok on my Toyota Tacoma but are utterly useless on my Chevy Tahoe. They slide all around even with the straps ratcheted down as tight as possible. The other issue is that they are very difficult to remove once ratcheted down like this. I almost snapped the mirror on my truck trying to remove them. Would recommend only for someone that has smaller and very sturdy mirrors. They will leave marks on the mirror unless some electrical tape is applied under clip. 23653

Could not adjust mirror inward to even see my trailer. The big kicker was the clips that hold it on the mirrors of my tacoma chipped the chrome off. That really sucked!19756

Basic product seems good. The suction pads could be a bit better- my MBZ. mirrors are very roundy at the outer edge, and the devise is a bit tricky to tighten enough to seat all 3 pads. Haven't driven with them yet, but hoping they stay put!11696

There are a lot of mirrors out there that are ill fitting which result in poor performance (shaking, rattling, poor adjustment and even falling off the vehicle). I have found this mirror to be the best for my vehicle. It secures to the mirror extremely well, holds true for great visibility, made very well and has multiple adjustment points to fix the mirror right where you want it. The design of this mirror makes it easily adjustable to fit just about any mirror out there. I am extremely happy with this mirror and would highly recommend it.7678
