Specs:

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 36417 from Draw-Tite on a 2008 Honda Odyssey. We are underneath the vehicle now and we are looking at the driver's side frame rail. As you can see here at the end, we have two existing weld nuts in the frame that we are going to be using as the two attaching points for the trailer hitch. And then over here on the passenger's side, we have the same two weld nuts that are also going to provide the attaching points. And you can see, we do have the exhaust in the way, so we are going to want to lower that down first. To do that, we are going to remove it off of the rubber hanger here at the rear position and then here at the more forward position, almost in the middle of the vehicle.
With the exhaust down, I am going to go ahead and clean the weld nuts out first, before we go ahead and get started with the hitch install. To do that, again, I am just going to take a spray lubricant, like DW-40 and then I am just going to take a basic battery terminal cleaner and just going to run that up inside the weld nuts a few times. And then I am going to do that to the other side as well. Now that we have the weld nuts thoroughly cleaned out, we can go ahead and put the hitch up into position. We want to use the hardware that is provided in the installation kit to make our connections. OK, and with the bolts in place, we can go ahead and tighten them down. OK, and with the bolts tightened down, I want to go back through and torque them to their specified torque rating. You want to check with your directions to verify that appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt. And with all of the bolts torqued down, we just want to make sure that we put our exhaust back on its hangers. And our installation will be complete. And this will conclude the installation of hitch part number 36417 on a 2008 Honda Odyssey.
OK, and with all the bolts in the frame, we can go ahead and tighten them down. They are slightly tightened down now. We want to go ahead and torque the bolts to their specified torque ratings. And you want to check with your instructions to verify the appropriate torque rating for each particular bolt. And when you have the bolts torqued down here on the passengers side, you want to make sure that you put the exhaust back on the hanger. And with the bolts properly torqued down, that will conclude the installation of hitch part number 36417 on a 2008 Honda Odyssey.

2006 Honda Odessy, hitch and lighting, videos were perfect, especially the attention to preparing the nuts on the frame, if you don't spend the time to get them clean be prepared for sore arms and new four letter combos while you try to start those bolts and hold the hitch up. Overall your 3 rated difficulty was right on the mark. 22544

Easy install on my 2011 Odyssey (Touring Edition). I did need to remove the driver side plastic filler box (3 plastic rivets, 1 hex bolt and 1 Phillips screw). Slipped hitch over exhaust on passenger side then supported driver side. Started bolts on passenger side then on drivers side, then tightened all down to spec. Done in 15 minutes.19499

This is a repeat purchase for us. We sold our old van and purchased a new one. Found out we could have kept the same hitch! Oh well. Purchase process was easy and straightforward. Customer service was very helpful. Shipping was excellent and they kept us informed the whole time.10972

Easy installation... probably took 15 minutes. Only issue I had was that the hitch pinched up on my bumper cover which was replaced due to a rear end accident. Happy with the product!7748
