Video Transcript for Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Silverado

The 2007 Silverado body style as well as the 2008 styles have a place on the bumper where the plug can be mounted. We remove the cover here to give us the hole to mount the plug into place. Once weve removed the knockout from the bumper area well place the harness into position. Were going to have to drill holes out to mount this into place. You can use either a pen to mark the holes or a punch tool which is what Im going to use. Now we can move onto the drilling. Once we get the holes drilled, we want to mount the connector into place with the existing fasteners. Once we have the fasteners in we want to secure them with the nuts on the back side and tighten them down. Once weve mounted the plug onto the bumper area, we just need to make the connection up underneath the vehicle here. This is the back end of the connector we just installed, and this is the other side of the factory 7 peg connector. You just want to plug these together. This concludes the installation of wiring harness part # 30955 on a 2007 Chevy Silverado.

  • 2006 Hummer H3 Does Not Require a Converter or Modulite
  • Your vehicle does not require a converter or modulite. If your H3 has the tow package, you will use the Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors for Ford, GM Trucks with Factory 7 Way, part # 30955. If you do not have the tow package, you will use the 4-Pole 60 inch Long Vehicle End, part # 18002 to hardwire a 4-pole into your vehicle.

  • Wiring a Brake Controller on a 2007 Chevy 1500
  • The brake controller itself will splice into the bundle of taped or banded wires under the dash, usually located above where your left knee would be as you are sitting at the wheel. The wires do now connect color for color. The red wiring harness wire would connect to the black wire on the brake controller, the dark blue harness wire connects to the blue wire on the controller, the light blue harness wire attaches to the red wire on the controller, and the white wire on the harness connects to t

  • Turn Signals Not Working with Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors
  • The item you selected, 30955, does not have the relays included to activate the tow package on your vehicle - thus no turn signals. You need product number 30608, the Factory Style 7-Way and 4-Way Flat. This item has the relays you need for the activation of the factory tow package. I also recommend using a circuit tester to test your 7-way on the vehicle end for proper function. The yellow wire is the left turn signal and the green is the right signal. These are also your brake lights. The whit

  • 7 and 4-Way Connector for a 2008 Ford Expedition
  • Since your truck has a factory 4-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle you will need the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, item # 37185, which is designed for the 1997 - 2008 Ford Expedition with factory 4-Flat. The connections for a the brake feed, power and auxillary functions will be on the forward side of a connector that is attached to the driver side frame rail above the spare tire. You will need to splice the needed connections into the wiring using a circuit tester, item # 3808, to

  • What is the Difference Between Valley 7-Way V30607 and Hopkins 7-Way 30955
  • The Hopkins part # 30955 and the Valley part # V30607 work the exact same way and offer the same features. They bracket and layout is a bit different and so are the 4-Way covers. They operate the same way and have the same vehicle side connector. Now, your truck may have a knock out on the rear bumper with a pre-cut 7-Way mounting location that you might like better. No need to hang an existing bracket, the down side is you would need an adapter if you need a 4-Way connector. I have added a l

  • Adding a New 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 1992 Ford F-250 that Previously Had a 7-Way
  • What you will need to do is test the plugs you have found with a circuit tester like # 3808 if needed. You will be testing for the various lighting functions, brake controller output (if still installed) and a good ground. If all the signals are there and working properly, you can hardwire in a 7-Way trailer connector. I recommend a multi-tow, like # HM48470, so you will have a 4-Way, 5-Way, and a 7-Way. What you will do is remove the plug on the end that works, clip it off, and attach the wi
