Demo-master-lock-locks-2847dat Today were doing a review of the Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Lock part number 2837 DAT. This lock comes with all stainless steel parts to prevent rust and corrosion. The pin has a built in notches to walk around the barrel lock. The pin diameter is a quarter inch. We will fit the 5/8 standard couplers and from one inch to 6 2/5/1 ball couplers. The lock works like this; simple take our pin, run it through our coupler latch and we will take the barrel lock and slide it on.

Well lock it into position, remove one of our two keys and put our cover over the barrel lock. And there you have it for the Stainless Steel Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler lock part number 2847 DAT.

Hitch lock works great. I wish it could have been keyed the same as my receiver lock pin...but that wasn't an option.27922

The locking mechanism is stiff and the key is very difficult to get in all the way. This might get better with usage. Overall, good product to use on any kind of trailer.17368

What Size Coupler Latches are Compatible with the Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock
The Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock, # 2847DAT, is designed to fit coupler latch widths from 5/8 inches up to 2 inches wide. In all likelihood, it will fit your coupler. I recommend measuring to make sure. If you get a width that is less than 2 inches and has a hole for a lock that is 1/4 inches or less in diameter, this lock will fit. Availability of the Master Lock Stainless Steel Coupler Lock # 2847DAT
The design of the Master Lock stainless steel adjustable trailer coupler lock, # 2847DAT, has changed a couple of times recently. I cannot say for sure that your original rod would install and lock correctly in the newer style lock and my contact at Master Lock is unsure of the compatibility, but if you order a new lock you will get both the lock and pin that will work together. The pin of the Master Lock Coupler Lock, part # 2847DAT is 4 inches long. The pin has detents that allow it to fit latches up to 2 inches wide. The end cap is constructed of high impact plastic, and there is a metal button underneath that will prevent the pin from passing through the coupler latch if the plastic cap is removed.
