  • Hidden bracket design - drawbars are easily removable via 2 pins
    • Improved aesthetics compared with standard brackets
  • Computer-cut, all-steel construction provides exceptional strength
  • Black powder coat finish is durable and corrosion resistant
  • Simple installation - no welding required
    • Custom base plates ensure a perfect fit for your vehicle
  • Compatible with Quick Disconnects and all Roadmaster tow bars
  • Instructions and mounting hardware included
  • Made in the USA

The square drawbars, or front arms, on the XL series base plate kit are simple to mount and remove, easily securing with hitch pins. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 Tow Bar Review

Video Transcript for Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 Tow Bar Review

Today we are going to show you part number RM-422 from Roadmaster. What we have here is the Roadmaster, 10,000 pound all terrain Black hawk 2 tow bar. What you get with this part number is a quick disconnect base and the tow bar it self. This is the Roadmaster non binding tow bar which is really nice which means you do not have to have your car and RV in a straight line to line them up. Basically you get them as close as possible and tow bar is flexible enough to where you can hook up your bass to the tow bar. Then just pull forward and after a little bit of left and right turning it locks into place. Also what is nice about this tow bar is that the extra flexibility going down the road. You have the flexibility here of the draw bar going into the hitch. It can turn left or right and has the flexibility to go up and down also. Another nice feature is these guide bars on the sides. For your electrical cables and your safety cables too. Next we will install it on a hitch and we will show you the flexibility of the base plate and tow bar. In our mock up here we have it going to a 2 inch receiver which obviously would be hooked on the back of your RV but we do not have an RV to demonstrate this at this time. We will show you the basic configurations.

As you can see the tow bar has 2 axis of flexibility. It has left and right and also up and down. The base bar has flexibility at this point here as you can see. This here is a bracket which mounts up to your base plates that are installed on your car already. They are sold separate. It also comes complete with the hardware to mount these base plates on your car. Now we will show you how base bar can get disconnected from the tow bar. Then the tow bar it self can be stored away for easy storage on the back of your RV. Then you can pull out the safety pin right here then pull the actual pin and the tow bar comes disconnected. You can do that on both sides. You can take that lever and push it back and push the tow bar back. Then do the same thing for the other side. Then what you can do is fold these 2 together and stand it up and it goes into this holder right here. That way if your tow bar is stored and out of the way on the back of your RV.

Now we will just show you how it would typically be connected to the back of your car. Then what you want to do is extend your arms and expand them and run your car up to your tow bar and hook up to your base bar. Then you can bring your car up to meet the bar. As you can see it is still kind of crooked here. When you are ready to take off you can just pull on down the road in your RV and it self centers it self. So it pulls back like this and it is a rigid tow bar at this point. There you have it for part number RM-422 from Road Master the Black Hawk 2 all terrain non binding heavy duty tow bar.
