Today on This Old Boat Trailer we are going to repair one of the lug bolts in the hub. We are going to replace the wheel stud by using part number 25-53. The first thing we need to do is clean out the threads and we are going to be using a wire brush to do that with and that is part number 814092. Once we have everything cleaned out we will install the new wheel stud. We will use some thread locker to help keep it from coming back out and that is going to be part number LT37643. 00:28
Then we are going to take two regular lug nuts, you can use these off of the existing studs if you want and we will run these two together. Hold one nut in place and then draw the other nut onto it. Lock the two together and it will just run the two nuts together and kind of jam them and then we will take the assembly and we will just thread it in. There is a little ring in the middle of it and run that down until the ring seats into the hub. You want to tighten it down as you would any other wheel bolt or lug nut and once you have it ran down we will simply back off this nut. We have got our wheel stud repaired and we can put the wheel back on. Then we are going to top it off with a new chrome lug nut and that is going to be part number 12CLN. That is it, that will finish our installation of our wheel stud part number 25-53 on This Boat Trailer.

Fit my 5 lug trailer perfectly I have an older (15 years old) trailer that had lug nits frozen on the studs. I replaced the studs with new ones. These fit great. I used red loctite to hold them in permanently.2126

I needed to know that the Stud thread description is 20 threads per inch. It was labeled as a "fine' thread and that is not adequate. I took a chance and it turned out that the thread is 20/in.23169
