Specs:

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.
At etrailer.com we're committed to the products we sell, and to our customers. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff are available via both phone and email to address your questions and concerns for the lifetime of your hitch. The technicians at etrailer perform hitch installations on a daily basis, making them a valuable resource for do-it-yourselfers. The one-on-one, personal service you'll receive comes straight from an expert in the towing and automotive field. We've installed it, we've wired it and we've towed with it, so whatever your question, we can answer it.
Video of Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4"
Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer
installation instructions and specs for complete information.
Today we are going to install part number 24826 from Draw-Tite, and we are going to install this on a 2009 Honda Fit. The hitch gets installed using this hole in the frame and this hole in the frame right here. And also what is going to happen is we are going to have to trim this plastic piece off so the hitch will fit flush against the frame of the vehicle. OK, it is going to be the same thing on this side however, the hitch is going to wrap around the exhaust and use the same existing holes that are in the frame as was on the drivers side. Optionally, you can disconnect the exhaust and move it out of the way so it will be a little easier to get ahold of the hardware going into the vehicle. And that is what we are going to do here. So we will disconnect the two rubber hangers here, and hopefully that will give us enough wiggle room to push it off to the side. We actually put a safety strap on - we actually use a strap to hold it out of the way because there is plenty of room actually to move around now.
All right, what we will do is make a cut going this way. There we go. Now the hitch can sit flat against it, and this will be sitting up against the hitch. All right, now we can notch out this hole just enough to get our hardware inside there. It does not take much - probably a little bit more than 1/8 inch will be good enough. There you go. All right, we will go ahead and start installing our hardware. Using this hole in the back, we will start with that one first. We run our bolt leader all the way through, up to the front. Put our block in first and then thread in our bolt. Pull the whole assembly through, and back down. And we reuse this hole for the second fastener. So what is going to happen is we put our block on first, and our bolt next. Pull everything inside and pull it back through. Do the same thing on the passengers side, too. Put the passengers side up around the muffler first and then come back around and go over to the drivers side. We can go ahead and start snugging up the bolts. OK, once you get the bolts snugged down, then go ahead and torque the bolts down according to the specified ratings in the instructions. And with the exhaust reinstalled, that finishes our install of part number 24826 on a 2009 Honda Fit.

Written instructions were ok, the video was very helpful. Did it without a lift or jack which made it a challenge, needed another set of hands to help holds things up and such. Trimming the plastic wheel well was easy, getting the muffler off the rubber hangers wasn't as I didn't have a good pry bar like in the video. Wish there was a hitch like this made from aluminum for less weight. 14984

Fairly easy to install, but be extra cautious with the bolts that they don't get pushed up into the frame. That added about 45 minutes of struggle! Also, with 2 people, you can avoid muffler removal. 14505

Easy to install. You do have to cut part of the wheel well, but not as much as the video shows. Very unobtrusive. Very good quality.9547

Instructions were good. I didn't have to take off the wheel well cover. I used a Dremel and was able to trim it with it in place. The Dremel also made the key slot. A long extension on the socket helped. I don't know how I would have done the job without it. A competitor's video showed unbolting the muffler to access the bolts. It was not necessary with the extension on the socket. (By the way - I am a woman and only had help holding it in place while I put the nuts on the bolts.) The trailer hitch is barely noticeable. I ordered a bike rack for a 1.25 receiver. I can't wait to get it and try it out! 8949

So far product is as advertised. Put it on my 2010 Honda Fit Sport in about 35 minutes without issue. Looks great and I'm getting ready to try it out with a bike rack and two bikes. If it performs like it installed, I'd rate it an excellent. Also, shipping was great, it arrived several days before I expected it even after etrailer.co upgraded my shipping for free. Again excellent work on the folks at etrailer.com.8537

Very pleased so far with etrailer.com I ordered on a Tuesday and it arrived on Thursday and I only paid for standard shipping. Opened the box and the unit looks substantial. I will try to install it over the weekend. We bought the hitch for a bike rack for my wife's Honda Fit and read good reviews of the product prior to purchase. I can highly recommend Etrailer.com 7805

This is the latest of several Draw-Tite hitches I have owned. All have fit perfectly and were easy to install. Installation time was less than 1 hour working alone. During installation I only removed a push-pin from the plastic wheel well. I did not see a need to do any trimming as suggested in the instructions since the hard plastic is thin and only covers a small contact area between the hitch and vehicle frame. I did use locktite to secure the bolts. I plan to use the hitch to mount a bike rack on my 2011 Honda Fit 6660

Perfect fit Was a tight fit under the car without a lift, and I also found it difficult getting some torque on the nuts on the passenger side of the vehicle due to the exhaust system. I have no comparison however. I notched the holes using a dremmel bit on my drill. I am satisfied with the look, ease of use, and the price was great.3274

Easy install, rock solid... Installed this on my Honda Fit in about 30-45 minutes after watching the video here on etrailer.com. quick and easy, perfect fit. Going to use this with the #6500 cargo carrier for cross country road trip, way cheaper then a roof rack and no air drag.2704

Super easy to install Great product, easy to install, only minor notching of the frame hole to elongate it for rectangle washers to enter (square peg round hole thing...). Took my about 35 minutes start to finish. Wiring "kit" is the way to go, all plugs snap into existing system, about 5 minutes to install (for popping plastic panels off) no tools needed!1974

Rapid delivery. Reasonably straightforward install. I took the passenger side wheel off to get access to the frame on that side. Made it a lot easier (possible). Only a small amount of filing, dremeling required to notch one hole on each side. Fishing the bolt and bracket was easy enough but don't loose these pieces in the frame. Used the empty box to hold up the receiver.26590

Was a bit of work to get on but the video definitely helped a ton. I was able to get this on without messing with the muffler or having it on a lift/jack but I did have an extra set of hands to help out. I was a little surprised that I had to key the holes, I think that should have been in the product description, although it was easy enough to do with a dremel as someone else mentioned.24967

Easy install, fast delivery. The only problem is that I cannot find a ball mount with enough rise for my car anywhere, but that is not etrailer's fault. Thanks.22617

A nice, solidly built product. A bit tricky to install if you can't get your car up on a lift or jacks. I had no trouble trimming the plastic trim. I cut the notches in the rear holes using a Dremel tool. This would have been easy with a long cutting tool, but was trickier with the ball-end tool I had. It was easy to install the spacers and bolts as shown in the video. I put a piece of masking tape on the end of the pull wire, so that I could more easily see the end as it came past the rear hole. I didn't need to move the muffler to get the hitch in. I found that if I pushed the hitch in from the rear, with the right-hand arm over the tailpipe, I could slide it into position without moving the muffler. The hitch is heavy and awkward to lift up to the bolts. To make this easier, I tied the car jack that came with my Honda underneath the hitch, and slowly lifted it into place using the jack. I attached the right side first, then jacked up the left side and attached it. My bike rack slide in easily and tightened down solidly. I may buy a small cable lock to lock my rack to the hitch. 20206

The Draw-Tite hitch came very quickly from etrailer, and they had the best price around. Installation was easy, taking only about 35 minutes, including the time to put the car on/off jack stands. Fit was perfect, and the end result is very solid. Once installed, it is well hidden, which made photographing the finished job difficult.19874

Did fit perfectly the first time, but did not mount as quickly as stated. This is the third hitch we've purchased from etrailer.com and they have all fit just as stated in the literature. Will buy another whenever we purchase a different vehicle. We use it to pull a canvas topped pop-up camper that can be moved by one person lifting and pulling on the tongue. The video of installing was a wonderful help -- we knew just what to do, only had to manage to do it -- hitch is a little hard to lift into place.19026

Good hitch, great price. Recommend to watch the video to get an idea of how to install the hitch. One note: you don't really need to trim the plastic tab as shown in the video, because you can bend it out of the way so that it won't interfere with the hitch bracket that must be mounted directly onto the car frame. 18226

The receiver hitch came shipped without a scratch in a substantial box. The instructions are easy to follow. I had to keyhole two of the holes in my vehicles frame to insert the bolt keepers ,as per instructions, but that was easy enough with a rotary file. I could have been done in as little as a half hour but took my time and made it last an hour by painting all bare metal and using a torque wrench. I didnt even have to raise the vehicle. Very nice hitch, everything needed was included and shipping was fast.18060

Mine is a 2010 fit with the sport package and this fit perfectly. I highly recommend watching the video to master the techniques for using the screw-on wires to pull the bolts through the frame (this technique is a time saver!). Keep these wires attached until you are ready to put on each nut because it's easy to bump them back into the frame. Also, I did not detach and lower the muffler as shown in the video but you can work around the muffler if you have a bit of dexterity. I worked at a slow pace and the installation time was 2 hours (although 40 minutes is clearly possible). 17245
