Today on this 2010 Dodge Caliber we are going to be installing Draw Tite Hitch part number 24769. Before we get started with our installation we are going to go ahead and show you a couple of the final installed dimensions which are going to help make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure 14, and from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper is going to measure right at 6-1/2, and now we will go ahead and move on to our installation. Okay so we are up underneath the vehicle, and we want to go ahead and locate the hole that we are going to be using to mount the hitch to the vehicle. Starting over here on the drivers side, we are actually looking at the outboard side towards the end of the frame here, and if you see there are two holes here, and these holes actually pass all the way through the frame we will be using each one of those as our attaching points for our trailer hitch and thats actually going to be the same on the passengers side as well. What we are going to be doing is taking the provided 5/8 bolts here and inserting all the way through the holes, and the hitch will actually attach on the inboard side of the frame.
Go ahead and push the bolt in, but leave it flush with the inboard side of the frame so that we can get the hitch up into position, and then we will end up pushing it all the way through. Go ahead and repeat that for the other three bolts, and were ready to go ahead and put the hitch up into place. We will go ahead and attach the hitch to the hex bolts with the lock washer and hex nut. Okay now that we have the hitch up into place and the bolts snugged down, were just going to go back through and tork each one of the bolts down next. You want to verify with the directions the specific tork rating for each of the bolts.
And now with all the bolts torked down the installation is complete, and that will conclude the installation of Draw Tite Hitch part number 24769 on our 2010 Dodge Caliber. .

The holes for the bolts to go through on the bottom of my car were filled with packed dirt. It was hard to believe that the dirt was packed in there as it was since I dont live on a dirt road or travel them very often. It took about an hour to get all the dirt out so the bolts would fit in. Once that was done the instalation took about ten minutes. The holes matched up perfectly. 28419

I had gone to the dealership looking for a hitch and it was just to much for a lite duty hitch to carry my bike. So I went to the web and came upon your website..it was easy to look up what I needed and even had a video on how to install the hitch as well. I asked one of your experts a question about if a Torque Wrench is required as I do not own one. Yes, was the answer. I put it in my cart and tracked it (ground) in 4 days to my house. The hitch was boxed well as it was heavy. It was installed (by my son in law) in about 15-20 minutes as there where only 4 bolts. (My neighbor had a torque wrench) It looks great and was easy to install right under the bumper. Thank you for making life easy for a change. 25276

Received product when expected. Installation was a snap, perfect fit. Kudos also to Dodge for the design of the car to allow for a hitch. Needed to purchased a wrench and socket at the automotive store, but good to keep in the car to check tightness on occasion. The online installation video made all the difference.11466

2008 Dodge Caliber Class I, 1-1/4 Receiver Hitch Received the Draw-Tite Hitch two days after the order. I received it at 5:00 PM and installed it within 45 minutes laying in the snow and ice with only a pair of Channel Locks, Hammer and Socket Wrench. I didn't need a jack or another person to help. I hung the rigfht side of the hitch loosely and then mounted the left side. I had a little trouble because of the salt spray in the bolt holes, but the hammer helped get them through. What makes this hitch so nice is the 1-1/4 receiver. I can haul trailers, bikes or wild game with special carrying devices that attach to the hitch.4793
