8" Bias Ply Trailer Tire and Wheel

  • Tire: 215/60-8
  • Load Range B
  • Maximum Capacity: 770 lbs at 35 psi
  • Bolt Pattern: 5 on 4-1/2

Note: Most trailer tires that are smaller than 15" and have 5 bolts, have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.

How to Measure Bolt Pattern

How to Measure Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number is the diameter of the circle the holes sit on. To determine the diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure center-to-center on bolt holes directly across from each other on the circle (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 would mean 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" center-to-center diameter). When the number of bolt holes is odd, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from it on the circle (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 would mean 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolts).

AND / OR

An alternative Way to Measure the Bolt Pattern

The distance between the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of the bolt hole right next to it will also help determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8" then the bolt pattern is a 5 on 4-1/2
  • If D = 2-3/4" then the bolt pattern is a 5 on 4-3/4
  • If D = 3" then the bolt pattern is a 5 on 5
  • If D = 3-1/4" then the bolt pattern is a 5 on 5-1/2

  • Is 18.5x8.5x8 The Same Tire Size As 18.5x8.5 5 on 4-1/2 Listed On Tire and Wheel, # 215-60-8TW5-B
  • The Redline Trailer Tire and Wheel, # 215-60-8TW5-B, has a 18.5 inches diameter and a 8.5 inches overall width on the 8 inch tire. That is the same measurement you have on your tire. So that will be the right tire for your trailer. The tire is also listed on the tire as being a 215/60-8, which is the new metric sizing for that tire size. Our part number also lists the wheel bolt pattern, which is 5 on 4-1/2 inches. Most trailer tires that are smaller than 15 inches and have 5 bolts, have a

  • Is Trailer Tire Size 18.5 x 8.5 x 8 the Same as Trailer Tire Size 215/60-8
  • According to our resident tire expert, the 215/60-8 is the modern equivalent of the 18.5 x 8.5-8 tire. I have included a link to a tire sizing FAQ for you that compares different tire sizes. If you just need the tire, we have some options. First is # AM1HP26. This is a load range C tire rated for 935 pounds at 50 psi. Second is # AM1HP28, rated at 1,165 pounds at 70 psi. If you want a tire and wheel combo, we have two options. First, is # AM3H290, that comes with a white steel wheel. 935 p

  • Difference Between Bias Ply And Radial Ply Trailer Tires And What Does Load Range Mean
  • The main difference between bias ply and radial ply tire is how the tire is constructed. The cords underneath the tire are run in different directions. On a bias tire, the cords run at a 32 degree angle from the direction of travel and on a radial tire, the cords will run at 90 degrees from direction of travel, or across the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. Because of the construction of a radial tire, the tire has more flex and will allow for more ground contact. That will improve traction

  • Trailer Tire Recommendation for an Enclosed Trailer With ST205/75R15 Tires
  • If you have 4 load range C, ST205/75-15 tires, that is more than enough for 2,000 to 2,500 pounds. Each tire should have a capacity of 1,820 pounds at 50 psi. Trailer tires should always be inflated to their maximum psi rating for best performance and longest life. Radial tires are going to track better and give you a better ride without sacrificing durability. I recommend going with Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C, # AM10244, if you just want tires. If you want wheel a

  • Will Adding Higher Capacity Trailer Tires Allow Me to Carry More Weight on a Trailer
  • You have to go by the capacity of the axle even if the wheels and tires are rated for more weight. The opposite is also true, if the wheels are rated lower than the axle you have to go by their capacity. You always have to go by the lowest rated component in the system. To be able to carry more weight you would have to replace the axle and use wheels and tires rated the same as the new axle. The highest capacity 4.80-12 tire we carry is a load range C that has a max capacity of 990 pounds, #
