- Measuring for a Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Adapter
- To measure correctly for a Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Trailer Adapter (see link) you will need to have your vehicle and trailer positioned level. - If you already have the fifth-wheel rails installed in the bed of your truck then I would go with a Gooseneck Plate so that you do not have to install a new under bed mount system and make new holes in the truck bed. Cost will be less if you use a gooseneck plate also, plus there is the added advantage that if you want to tow a fifth-wheel trailer you will be able to use a fifth-wheel hitch without a gooseneck adapter. A gooseneck to fifth-wheel trailer adapter would be another expense and does

- Without knowing which installation kit was used to install the hitch that was on the vehicle previously I cannot say for certain if the holes will line up, but there is a fair chance that they will.
I would recommend installing the fifth wheel rails, and using a rail mounted gooseneck ball like the Draw-Tite model, part # 6002 or Curt # 16085. Adapting the fifth wheel rails to accept a gooseneck ball is much simpler and usually less expensive that using an adapter on a gooseneck ball to pull
