I ordered 40' of this for re-wiring my 15' trailer (running it down both sides). This wire is solid yet easy to work with, i.e. separating out an individual wire for splicing, bending, snaking inside trailer framing, etc. This wire is color coded with the 4 standard colors for trailer wiring.9785

This wire worked great and is the same gauge on all four wires rather than having a bigger gauge on just the ground like some wire is. I'm glad I ordered the amount I did because I didn't think I would use it but I did.74095

Easy to use. Bonded so you have to run only one flat cable. Easy to separate where necessary. Nice that you can buy by the foot. Less waste.58218

  • Standard Color Code for Wiring Simple 4 Wire Trailer Lighting
  • You have it right so far, the 4-way connector is just as you have stated. Remember that Yellow has a L in it so that is the left side brake/turn signal and green has a R in it so that is the right side brake/turn signal. The colors for wiring a 7-way connector are as follows with the 4 colors of the 4-way connector remaining the same. White-Ground Brown-Tail/Running Lights Green-Right Turn/Brake - Remember green has an R in it Yellow-Left Turn/Brake - Remember yellow has an L in it B

  • How Do Utility Trailer Lights Wire Up to the Trailer Wiring Harness.
  • The red wire is the turn signal wire and will be run to the green wire of your harness if its the right turn signal side, and the black wire will run to the brown wire of your harness. The yellow wire from your harness will run to the left turn signal red wire. The brown wire will also run to the black wire of this light also. I attached an FAQ on trailer wiring for you to check out also.

  • 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness has 5 Wires Coming Out of It
  • It sounds like you have a wishbone harness. A wishbone harness has 4 pins like a regular 4-Way but where the wires come out the running light circuit is split so you do not have to run a jumper wire between tail lights. You cannot always go by color. If the wire that is split is right next to the ground pin (covered pin) then this is what you have, a split running light wishbone harness like # A20WB.

  • Trailer Brake Lights Do Not Work When Connected to a 1997 Dodge Intrepid
  • You have gotten the correct functions for the wiring on a 4-Way. The brake lights not working is strange because they are on the same circuit as the turn signals. It is possible that the brake lights draw more power than the wiring harness and/or vehicle wiring on the vehicle can handle. There could be a blown stop light fuse in the vehicle. use the owners manual to find its location and determine if that is the issue. Check the main grounds on the trailer connector, trailer side, and the gr

  • Standard 4-Way Trailer Connector on 2004 Ford Ranger Fits a 5-Wire 4-Way Trailer Wishbone Harness
  • It sounds like you have a wishbone harness on your trailer, like # A35W42B. This type of connector will have a regular 4-Way but the running light circuit is spit into 2 wires at the back of the connector so you do not have to run a jumper wire to each side of the trailer. The vehicle 4-Way is configured as follows: White = ground, Yellow = left turn/brake lights, Green = right turn and brake lights, and Brown = running lights. On the trailer, white is ground, yellow is left turn/brake, gr

  • Brake Lights and Tail Lights Do Not Work on Trailer With 4 Wire System
  • On a trailer that uses a 4-Way wiring harness, the brake lights and turn signals are on the same circuit. So it is strange that the brake lights are not working when the turn signals are. There could be a few different issues going on here, so I recommend starting the troubleshooting process from the beginning. First, with the trailer not connected, check the connector on the tow vehicle for signal using a circuit tester like # 3808. This is to make sure that a signal is coming through to th

  • Running Lights are not Working on a Trailer with a 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector
  • There are a few troubleshooting steps that you can run through to determine why your running lights are not working. The first step that I would take is to check all of your ground connections. A faulty ground connections can cause many different issues. Check that the ground connections from your vehicle and trailer side connectors and from your trailer lights are attached to a clean, bare metal surface such as the vehicle or trailer frame. If all ground connections are in good condition, o

  • What Color is Reverse Light Wire on a 1996 Chevrolet K1500 Pickup
  • The best way to confirm which wire activates your vehicle reverse lights is to remove one taillight assembly and visually identify which lead goes to the reverse light bulb. To remove the taillight, open the tailgate and locate and remove the two taillight retaining screws. This will allow you to pull out the taillight assembly for access to the wiring. Then, for safety sake, it will be useful to have a helper turn the ignition to the on position without starting the vehicle. Then place t

  • Can Bonded 4-Wire be Used on a Trailer with a 4-Way Connector but with 5 Wires
  • The bonded 4-wire, # 16-4B-1 has white, brown, yellow, and green wires. Typically, white is ground, brown is running lights, yellow is left turn and brake, and green is right turn and brake. With the wiring you have as listed, the turn left would connect to the yellow wire, turn right would connect to the green wire, tail marker would connect to the brown wire, and white would be ground. I have included a link to our wiring FAQ that also has some helpful wiring diagrams. On a 4-Way connect

  • How to Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector to Add a 12 Volt Power Wire to a Trailer
  • It sounds like you are missing a wire for the running lights on your trailer. Trailers that are wired for lights only typically have 4 wires, one for right stop/turn, one for left stop/turn, one for ground and one for running lights. Does your trailer have functioning turn signals, brake lights and running lights? When installing a 7-way trailer connector, you will need to cut off your current trailer connector and you can either connect your trailer wires to a 7-way connector like the Pollac
