  • I went out to the warehouse and pulled an Adjustable Ball Mount, # 1420. The shank is solid. The vertical portion that holds the adjustable ball mount is hollow. For Adjustable Ball Mount # 1424, I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and according to the design specs it, too, has a solid shank with a hollow vertical portion. With a solid shank you will not experience much, if any, deflection of the shank when under load (500 pounds tongue weight capacity). Both of these adjustable ball mounts

  • I went out the warehouse and measured an adjustable ball mount, # 1420. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole is 12 inches. From the center of the pin hole to the center of the holes for the adjustable mount measures 7-7/8 inches. When in the drop position it is 3/8 of an inch above the shank. It has a maximum drop of 7-1/4 inches. I think a better choice for you would be the Hidden Hitch Adjustable Ball Mount, # 80414. It measures 14 inches from th
