Today on this 2007 Nissan Murano we will be installing hitch part number 13571 from Curt. Okay we are underneath the vehicle, before we can get started we need to go ahead and lower the exhaust off its hangers and get it out of the way. There are four main hangers that we are going to need to lower the exhaust off of. Over here on the drivers side we have two, these two can simply be pulled off their hangers. It may help to use a spray lubricant like WD-40, to spray the studs down first, it will make the removal way easier.
On the passenger side we will be removing it off the hanger here on the outboard side of the frame rail. This one will need to be unbolted. And then here at the middle of the exhaust on the forward side we need to remove it off of this fourth hanger, which again can be unbolted from the frame. Before we do so we need to make sure we support the exhaust tube with a strap or a bungee cord, something that will support the beam. Because once we remove this final hanger the exhaust will want to fall down and it could damage your system if not properly supported.
Okay now that we have the exhaust lowered we can go ahead and remove the tow hook from the drivers side frame rail. There are four bolts holding the tow hook onto the frame. Now that we have the tow hook removed I am going to go ahead and point out the three attaching points here on the drivers side. And over here on the passenger side we are just going to be using the two rear most weld nuts here at the bottom of the frame. Okay with those pointed out we can go ahead and put the hitch up in position. We are going to be using the 12 millimeter bolts along with the conical tooth washers. And for the forward most attaching point here on the drivers side we will be using the 10 millimeter bolt with the conical tooth washer. And now that we have all the bolts in place we can go ahead and torque the bolts down. You want to check with the directions to verify the appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt. And with all the bolts torqued down we just want to put the exhaust back up on its hangers and our installation will be complete. And that will conclude the installation of hitch part number 13571 on a 2007 Nissan Murano.

Bar fits pefectly - but Nissan makes it tough You can actually get the tow bar in place without lowering the exhaust. However, unless the Murano is brand-new, you will not be able to clean out the M12 - 1.25 fine thread weld nuts to get the bolts started with the exhaus tin the way. 4623

great Fit like a glove. Took 80 minutes but had to talk about it and a few cold adult beverages. Would get the tap for the 12mm bolts. Had some corosion in the nuts on the frame. Cleaned up the holes and the bolts went in all the way with my fingers. Perfect fit and looks really good.1871

Perfect fit, good construction Bought this in lieu of the dealer's $500+ hitch after reading various reviews by other Murano Owners. This hitch is well built. The welds are relatively smooth and even, and the tolerances for the bolt holes are very good. Installation was fairly easy and required no more than 50 minutes, including the manipulation of the exhaust system. I would definitely recommend this hitch especially given the cost savings over OEM.557

Product matched description and pictures. Expedited shipping was FAST. Installation was smooth. Videos were accurate and helpful to see before the installation. Communication from eTrailer was good. In general, this purchase from eTrailer was very good, and I've recommended eTrailer to a friend that's looking for a hitch for his car.28336

I installed this product with wiring about a month ago. While it may be easier to install after taking down the muffler, you do NOT need to do so. If you have a help it is possible to gently pull downward on each muffler and slide the brackets through the opening between the muffler and bumper. This saves A LOT of time and also ensures you won't need to replace the muffler donut gaskets after installation. My brother in law and I did the whole thing in less than an hour using this method. As for the hitch assembly, its a very good product. Towed right around 3500 pounds worth of grapes for winemaking with no problem at all.25898

I installed this hitch and curt electrical wire kit today. it took me and my wife about 3 hours to finish it. it was not that difficult, but it took time , as I had to remove tie down hook, etc. I removed muffler completely, I found it is easier to install the hitch with muffler completely removed. I moved rubber muffler hanger, 2 on driver side, and 2 bolts connect muffler to pipe to catalytic converter ( circle in red in picture ). it was easy to remove muffler. removing bolt of tie down hook require cheater's bar , since it was tight. I did this without lifting car, just require good socket wrench, hold muffler using floor jack while removing it. I used $15 harbour freight 1/2 drive torque wrench to tighten bolts to specification on manual. I used silicone spray oil to make rubber parts holding muffler loose, and make it easy to slight.24930

The trailer hitch was well finished and well packaged. The installation video that was available for the Murano was spot on and my experience installing the hitch was near identical to the video. Very helpful.23525

Our new Curt hitch is awesome. It fits perfect on our '07 Murano and was easy to install. It took about an hour and I did not have to purchase any tools to complete the install. The installation video was very helpful as I did need it for reference. We use it only to transport our bikes from home to parks, but it holds up well and looks great when doing so. Thanks to etrailer.com we got a great hitch at a great price as well as received it in a very timely manner.11940
