Today on this 2010 Chevy Silverado we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13322. Before we get started with our installation, we want to go ahead and show you a couple of final install dimensions that are going to help make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure 20 inches. And from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper is going to measure approximately 3 inches. Now let us go ahead and move on to the hitch installation. 0:24
OK, we moved underneath the vehicle and the first thing we have done was to go ahead and remove the spare tire to give us a little bit more working room. First we are going to go ahead and point out the attaching points that we are going to be using to mount the hitch to the vehicle. Starting off at the bottom of the bumper at the center of the vehicle, there are two existing weld nuts there. We are going to be using those for our two center most attaching points for the hitch. Moving over to the driver side frame rail, you can see we have an existing bolt at the end of the frame. We are going to be removing that bolt and replacing it with a new one. And if you continue forward on the vehicle, you will see that there is an existing hole there and that will provide our third and final attaching point to the hitch. At the third attaching point we are going to be taking the carriage bolt and block and go ahead and merge the two together, set them inside the frame and down through the hole. And that is going to be the same on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. And into this weld nut here, we are going to be using the new 14 millimeter bolt, along with a conical tooth washer. And that is going to be the same on not only this weld nut, but the weld nuts in the bottom of the bumper as well. 1:25
Before we put the hitch up, I am going to go ahead and clean out the exposed weld nuts in the bottom of the bumper. And to do this, we are going to take a spray lubricant, like a WD-40, and go ahead and spray them down thoroughly. And then we can just take a wire brush and go ahead and run that in there a few times. Cleaning them out can make the insertion of the bolts much easier. You may need to do this a few times to ensure that they are thoroughly clean. Once they are cleaned out, we can go ahead and put the hitch up into place. When you put the hitch up into position, there is an order of operations that you are going to want to abide by. You are going to first attach to the carriage bolts at the forward attaching point. And we are going to leave those loosely installed. We will swing the hitch up and mount it to the bumper next. And then we will move to the middle attaching point, the weld nut at the rearmost attaching point on the frame. And then with all of the hardware in place, we can go ahead and go back through and tighten each one of the bolts down. And then finally, we will go back through and torque each one of our bolts down and we want to verify with the directions the specific torque rating for each of the bolts. And then with all of the bolts torqued down, we just need to make sure we put our spare tire back up into place and our installation will be complete. This will conclude the installation of Curt hitch, part number 13322 on a 2010 Chevy Silverado.

Very disappointed when product didn't bolt up under the bumper. The two holes for the bumper were both off 1/2 to 3/4". The front of the bumper mounting plate covered 1/2 of the thread openings on the bumper. My solution has been to drill the rear part of the bumper, I couldn't find my 1/2" drill, so I have to get a new 1/2" drill. So far I have drilled to approximately 3/8", but my battery powered drill can't handle a 1/2" bit. So, I need a new 1/2" drill from Harbor Freight ($30). Then I will have to find ASE bolts and nuts to do the bolt up. I couldn't find a nut to fit the bolts that you provided. 6384

all I need I needed to install a hitch on my 2009 Chevy Silvarado. After looking at several different web sites, I found all I needed to complete the job in one location. I was able to pick a hitch, wiring harness and accessories to complte the job. I also liked getting the notifications from the people who input, picked and shipped my order. I also liked the tracking number system that you included in your shipping notification, I did not have to copy a long sting of charcters and then go to a UPS or Fedex site, to use the tracking number. I placed my order Monday morning and by Wensday afternoon the kit was at home waiting for me. I was able to complete the hitch and wiring installation in 30-40 minutes. I almost bought a hitch from the chevrolet dealership and I am glad I didnt. This hitch even looks better than the factory hitches and is around 100 dollars less. 2010 silverado hitch Perfect fit; clean finish... exactly the hitch you want for your new truck. Installed it on my lunch hour by myself.... air impact wrench a must; you'll need a skinny extender bar for the air wrench and the torque wrench to do the job right... easy install about 20 minutes. IMPORTANT! Don't take your spare tire off, that's just dumb!; at least on my 2010 I didn't and it was apparent it would not be necessary to install this hitch.
