Today we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13185 on a 2009 Nissan Rogue. We are underneath the vehicle and we are looking at the drivers side frame rail. You can see we have got three existing weld nuts here at the bottom of the frame that we are going to be using as the attaching points for the trailer hitch. It may be necessary to clean these weld nuts out if there is any road grime or corrosion built up in them. And over here on the passengers side, you can see we have got an existing tow hook that we are going to need to remove. It is held on here by two screws here on the vertical side of the frame and then two at the bottom as well. Once these are removed, they are going to provide the two attaching points for the hitch at the rear side. We are also going to use this existing hole here at the forward side. We are also going to need to remove this small screw here in the middle, which is going to interfere with the hitch sitting flush against the frame.
So, we will start by removing the two hook and the screw from the bottom of the frame. At this point we can go ahead and put the hitch up into position. We are going to be using the new hardware that is provided in the installation kit, which includes the hex bolt and the conical-tooth washer. It may be necessary, if you are having trouble getting the hitch into position, you may want to go ahead and lower the exhaust off of its hangers. OK, with the bolts up in place, I am just going to go ahead and snug them down, and then we will go back and torque them to the specified torque rating. OK, and with all the bolts torqued down, our installation is complete. This will conclude the installation of Curt hitch part number 13185 on a 2009 Nissan Rogue.
With all the bolts and the tow hook removed we can go ahead and put the hitch up into place. And again, we will be using the new hardware that is provided with the hitch installation kit to hang the hitch up in place. With all the bolts in place you can go ahead and torque them down. You want to check with the directions to verify the appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt. Now that we have all the bolts torqued down our installation is complete. This will conclude the installation of hitch part number 87457.

Easy installation... I purchased this hitch for my 2008 Nissan Rogue. Following the step by step instructions that came with the hitch, it was a very simple installation. But you will need a second person to help. Only the receiver is visible after installation.1010
