  • Works with most vehicle with multiplex wiring system for lighting

Specs:

  • Wire pigtails measure 18" long
  • 4-pole trailer connector is 60" long from converter box

Video Transcript for How To Differentiate a Two Wire and Three Wire System

Today we are going to do the Frequently Asked Questions of what is the difference between a three wire system and a two wire system. It is actually very easy and very simple. All it is, is you take away two wires and the same thing applies to the four and five wire system. Starting off on the car side we are going to attach the wiring to, we are going to have five wires. Green is going to be right turn, red is going to be the brake signal, yellow is going to be left turn, brown is going to be your running lights, and the white is going to be ground. When you talk about the three wire system you are only talking about the right turn, the brake signal, and the left turn. You omit the brown wire and the white wire. That is our three. On the two wire system you are only dealing with the two combined signals, the brake signal and the turn signal on the same wire. We are only dealing with the left and right turn. 00:46

Next we will show a couple of examples of a two wire system compared to a three wire system. First we are going to show you a version of a two wire system. We are going to use my little truck and we are going to show the turn signal first and then we will stop that and we will turn on the brake signal. I have got my left turn signal on and now hit the brake and you see the actual same bulb turns on. That tells you that it is a combined system. In this vehicle it is going to be very easy to see that we have a three wire system. First off we have got the yellow turn signal to tell us right away that is going to be a separate system. Yellow is going to be the turn signal and the red on the bottom is going to be our brake light. Just to reiterate we will turn on our turn signal and then we will hit the brake signal and you can see the difference so that means we have got a three wire system.

Great kit to add to any car I found the instruction easy to understand and I event watched the install video on the site. I am a pretty good elecrical guy so it was no problem for me, but you are going to need to know how to test probe the tailight plugs to find out what wires to connect to. I would suggest not using scotch locks to connect to the wires. Soldiering is the only way to make sure you arent damaging the wires. Good wiring option in a small package.2826

  • Circuit Protected Taillight Converter with 4-Pole End for a 1999 Plymouth Breeze

They are actually the same harness, but the # 119175KIT comes as an installation kit which has all the items needed to assist with the install.

  • Vehicle Wires are Thinner than the Wires of the Circuit Protected Taillight Converter
  • It is not uncommon for the wires on your vehicle to be a little bit thinner than the wires of the Circuit Protected Taillight Converter with 4-Pole End, part # 118175. As long as you are tapping into the correct turn signals and brake and running lights, you should not have any problems. The circuit protected converter will protect your vehicles sensitive wiring and circuitry.

  • Wiring Harness for a 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor
  • Since 07 Endeavors did not come with a tow package, you will need to hardwire your vehicle. The wiring system on this vehicle is not strong enough to support both the vehicle and trailer lights, so a powered converter or Modulite is required. Powered converters (Modulites) are spliced into the vehicle wiring system to get the signal, but the power for the trailer lights is drawn directly from the vehicle battery unlike non-powered systems. This bypasses all the expensive electrical component

  • The portion of the product description you are referring to states that the trailer converter and wiring, part # 119175, should not be used with vehicles that are equipped with LED lights. Trailers equipped with LED lights are fine. Part # 119175 is fine for both your Altima and Versa as long as they are not equipped with LED tail lights and blinkers. The reason why it should not used with LED vehicle lights is because LEDs use much less current than incandescent bulbs. LEDs are new to traile
