Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the interior trim panel in your rear cargo area.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in the jack storage compartment of your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Equinox we are going to be installing wiring harness, part number 118432. We are in the rear cargo area of the Equinox and we are going to locate the port that we are going to be pulling the wiring harness into. This is an open ended port, which is located in the floor area of the jack storage compartment. The first thing we need to do is remove the door here and also remove the jack. I will set that off to the side for the time being. :27
It is going to be kind of hard to see, but if I pull the insulation up here, and you take a look inside, you can see the open ended port that is located right there at the bottom area, almost directly below where the jack was stored. What we are going to do is take our open ended wiring harness plug here and plug that directly in. you can see also, that you have an open ended white wire, which is our ground wire. If you look down there again, you can see there is a grounding stud located just to the forward side of where our plug is located. :53
With the port and grounding stud located , we can start installing our harness. To remove the nut off the grounding stud you are going to need a 10 millimeter socket. That is all there is to installing it here at the rear section of the vehicle. You can see the four pole, when not in use can be stored inside the storage compartment. When we want to use it we can just pull it outside the rear cargo door. The weather stripping here at the backside will prevent that from being pinched, so you do not have to worry about that. From there, I am going to remount the jack in the storage compartment, and then we are going to go up under the hood and connect our fuses and relays into place. 1:25
We are up underneath the hood now and we have located our fuse block that we need to plug our fuses and relays into place. This fuse block can be located over on the driver side, just forward of the fire wall here. I am going to go ahead and lift the lid on it. If you look at the backside of the lid, all our fuses and relays are numbered in position. We are going to start by plugging our relays into place. We are looking to plug in our relays at position 58 and 59. These relays are going to activate our right turn and right stop leads and our left turn and left stop leads. When plugging the relays into place, we want the slope side of the relay facing towards the driver side of the vehicle. 2:05
There are three fuses that we need to plug in place as well. These, again are provided with our installation kit and are all 10 amp fuses. For these we need to locate fuse positions number 35, 37, and 43. Position 35 is located right here. Position 37 is located right here. And fuse position 43 is located right here. With the two relays and three fuses in place all of our leads in the tow package should be active now. We want to reinstall the lid to our fuse block and our installation will be complete. This will conclude the installation of wiring harness part number 118432 on a 2009 Chevrolet Equinox.

Great value, fit perfect fulfilled all expectaions except the instructions were missleading regarding the auto's plug being at the floor. It took longer to find the plug which was up in the pillar area above the jack compartment. It took longer to find the plug than to do the install but thanks to a previous review I had a good idea where to look but was amazed as to where it was. Ended up using a mirror to see it and pluged in this harnes by feel. I wonder if Suzuki moved it at some point. Mine is an early 2007 (first year) so I hope this will help any other early year XL7 owners in locating the plug. The harness kit even included a self drilling screw for the ground since there was not an existing one visible. TIP: Use platic ties to secure the harness wire in the jack compartment so if the wire is pulled either by humans or trailers it will not be pulling on the plug or vehicle harness causing damage. I also added one of the trailer wire extension cords to make sure it would not happen.5814

Quick install. Like other reviews state, connector is on passenger side jack compartment location in the upper right. Difficult to see but simple to feel the connector and make the connection. Found a threaded hole in the upper left of the jack compartment to use as the ground connection.42005

Simple install, less than 5 minutes total time, including testing it to be sure everything worked. The only hold up I had was that the instructions said the plug was on the floor of the jack storage compartment. I have a 2009 Suzuki XL7, the plug was actually just above the jack in the back pillar. Also, in the Suzuki the jack storage is on the passenger side of the vehicle, not drivers side as stated in instructions. Once you find the plug, just follow the instructions, piece of cake. Fuse and relay locations given in the instructions are correct and very easy to follow. Everything works perfectly. So much easier than trying to splice in to factory wiring.31673

Hitch Wiring etrailer.com send this product asap and was even good enough to tape to the drawtite hitch I purchased. This product wasn't as easy to install on my Suzuki XL7 as their video shows. Meant more for the Chevy Equinnox, I had to did way up into my panel to find the wiring. Once finding it was just as easy as the video with one exception. All 3 of my fuses were blown. Took some time to troubleshoot so instead of this being a 15 minute install it took 2 hours. Once the blown fuses were replaced (bought new ones) - everything worked great. Very satisfied with how etrailer.com handled the purchase and will purchase again. Troubleshooting tip - check the 'new' fuses if things aren't working properly.5235

A very simple solution The Chev dealerships here told me that Chev doesn't make a wiring harness for the Equinox yet. Then I couldn't get them to tell me where to get the parts. I phoned many dealerships in the area and they all said the same thing, they don't know how to wire one. Then they quoted me 80 dollars each for the relays when they finally found some. It was really frustrating and I thought there must be a better option. So we looked online and found etrailer. I would definately recommend anyone trying to wire their Equinox to just order one. It was very simple to install and was here in 8 business days.998

Easy to install 07 equinox Just remove jack from storage area plug in connector. Remove ground nut put on ground wire reinstall ground nut. Open fuse pannel plug in 2 relays and 3 fuses thats it. 448
