Video Transcript for Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2003 Dodge Durango

Today on this 2003 Dodge Durango were going to be installing wiring harness part number 118334. In the location of the ports we are going to be plugging our wiring harness into are located directly behind the tail lights of both the drivers and passengers side of the vehicle. In order to gain access to those these are two Phillips head screws per side, you just want to go ahead and remove those and allow the tail light to pop off. With the tail light pulled back you can see on the back side of the tail light is the connector we are going to be using. We will next need to go ahead and separate the connector from the tail light, and to do that if you look on the top side of the connector there is a red tab here, you want to go ahead and press it over, and that releases the safety clip, and then there is a push button release right here on the top as well, press that in, and pull the two pieces apart. We will go ahead and do that for the passengers side tail light as well and then we will go ahead and start plugging our harness in line.

So starting over here on the drivers side we are going to go ahead and start plugging our harness in line. There are two sets of connectors obviously one for the drivers and one for the passengers sides, and ones for the drivers side has the red, yellow and brown wires integrated into them. Theres the one end of our connector into the vehicle side connector, and again we want to make sure we push our red tab over to lock it in. Im going to hold off plugging the tail light back in to the other end just yet, because what we are going to need to do is take not only the passengers side connector, but the 4 pole end as well, and we need to get them underneath the vehicle and to do so we are going to feed them through the opening in the body and in the bumper here. Okay the next piece that we come to in our harness is the converter box here, and if you rotate it over you will see weve got double sided tape on it.

You want to go ahead and adhere to a part of the body structure here to keep from it jiggling around loosely as we drive along. What I am going to go ahead and do is clean out the underside of the bumper, and actually take and adhere it up underneath there like so. Okay with all that accomplished we could go ahead now and plug the other end into the back side of the tail light, and you could go ahead and put it back into place. Okay with the drivers light tail light on, we can continue underneath the vehicle now where were going to go ahead and route our remaining wires in place. The 4 pole I am going to go ahead and route to the center of the vehicle where you can either tie it off at your trailer hitch or use your mounting bracket to hold it in place.

And then we are going to go ahead and do the same thing with the passenger side connectors, however these obviously we will take all the way across and up through the opening between the body and the bumper on the passengers side. And then go ahead and repeat the same process over here on the passengers side. And with that, that will conclude the installation of wiring harness part number 118334 on a 2003 Dodge Durrango. .

T-Harness Fitment Harness hook-up was pretty simple, but the wires from left tail light to junction box were too short to locate inside jack storage box as directed. Need to be at least 6-12 inches longer. Barely reach inside rear "door" to attach on molded plastic trim without getting hit by "door" when it closes. Aside from that, I was very satisfied.3673

Just installed this on 1998 Grand Voyager. Product seems well-made, with sturdy connectors for both taillights and the trailer. The tee connectors fit the existing tail light connectors snugly and lock into place. The instructions cover two types of installation, one each for minivan and SUV. The minivan instructions are silent on how to route the wire connecting the left- and right-side tail light connectors. I had expected to go under or through the frame, but saw no way to do this, and the instructions did not help. I finally decided just to route the wire inside the lower part of the hatch opening, around the outer edge of the weatherseal. I then pulled the slack out of it to draw it against the metal lip that holds the weatherseal. I probably will go back and drill for a few connectors to hold this wire in place. The instructions should be revised to make this aspect of the installation clear. The installed product is working fine.24631

Follow the instructions to the "T", step by step and installation was a breeze. The only super-minor thing would be that the flat-four lead could be a few inches (4 - 6" maybe) longer.8722

Expert Answers about T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness - 118334 Do you have a question about this Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring?

  • T-One Wiring Harness for a 1998 Dodge Caravan
  • In order for your trailer lights to function properly, you will need to use a tail light converter. The converter combines the signals for the directional signals and brake lights onto the same circuit. This is the same system that your trailer lights use. Simply tapping a 4-pole into your existing vehicle wiring will not work. You will need the T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118334. This harness will plug inline into the existing wiring located behind the tail light assemblies. The ins

  • P-3 Brake Controller Wiring on a 2005 Ford F-150, 2000 Dodge Durango, and 2006 Nissan Xterra
  • For the 2005 Ford F-150, you will need the Tekonsha Wire Replacement, # 3035-P. And of course, you will need the Tekonsha P-3 Trailer Brake Controller - Proportional, # 90195. This should be all you need if the vehicle comes with a factory tow package and 7-Way wiring. For the 2000 Dodge Durango, you will need the Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. You will also need a Replacement Brake Control Plug-In Harness, # 20127 that plugs into the P3. The wires from it then connec

  • Installation of T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118334 to Brake Lights on 2003 Dodge Durango
  • On your 2003 Dodge Durango the part to use would be a T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118334. It has a T-One connector that is connected to the back of your vehicles tail lights, so the tail lights do have to be removed. I am including a link to a video of the wiring harness being installed on a 2003 Dodge Durango. It will show where to plug in the wiring harness on your vehicle. Also, for a mounting bracket of the connector I would recommend the Tow Ready Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat, # 1814

  • Trailer Passenger Brake Light Works But Blinker Does Not on 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager
  • I recommend testing the wiring harness for a malfunction. Using a circuit tester like the Quickee # 3808, test the wires going into the converter box for the proper function. If, when you test the right blinker, the signal is absent or otherwise incorrect, then there is a problem with the vehicle wiring, possibly a ground problem with the right taillight. If the functions are all correct, test the wiring coming out of the converter box. If the signals going in are correct, but wrong coming ou

  • Wiring a Flat 4 Way Trailer Connector on a 1998 Dodge Caravan with Missing 4-Way Connection
  • If you are trying to replace the 4-Way connector on the rear of your 1998 Dodge Caravan you will need to wire a new 4-Way connector, item # 18004, by function using a circuit tester, item # 3808. Attaching a new trailer connector properly should solve your trailer lighting issues, as long as the converter has not been shorted out due to the wires being exposed from the original connector breaking off. If the converter, item # 118334, has been shorted it will need to be replaced. This wiring h

  • Who is the Manufacturer of the Trailer Wiring Harness Part # 118334 Hopkins Harness Keeps Shorting
  • The manufacturer of the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118334, is Tow Ready. You may get better service life from the Tow Ready wiring harness, but in my experience, converters short out due to wiring issues on the trailer. Many boat owners have trouble with converters shorting out because the tail lights short out when backing their boats into the water. The solution in this case is to unplug the trailer before launching the boat, and to leave the trailer unplugged when loading the boat un

  • Rear Running Lights on Trailer and 2000 Dodge Caravan Malfunctioning
  • You will want to use a circuit tester like part # 3808 to test the wires going into the converter box for signal. You will then want to make sure the wires leaving the converter box have signal as well when the proper functions are being used. If there is not signal from the wires leaving the converter box, the unit may be bad and will need to be replaced. If the running light bulb on your 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan is not illuminating at all, I would recommend checking the bulb to make sure it
