Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness by Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch and Reese
Installation: T-One is plugged into the back of each taillight assembly. The 4-pole trailer connector will be stowed under the vehicle, close to the trailer hitch when not in use. A mounting bracket is recommended.
Tech Tip: It is always a good idea to apply a small amount of grease to all electrical connections to help prevent corrosion.
Please note: Per Vehicle Owner's manual: If trailer is equipped with more than standard lighting (1 taillight per side), use of Modulite or dealer supplied harness is required.

Today we will be working on a 2005 Dodge Dakota. We are going to install Tow Ready T-one connector, part number 118323. First we are going to start out on the passenger side by removing these two torque spit screws. We are removing these so that we can remove the taillight lens to access the taillight wire connector. Set those screws aside so we can reinstall them later. You may need to gently pry the light, the lens, away from the bed assembly as these plastic rivets can be difficult to remove. As you can see, we can now access the right rear taillight wiring connectors. We are going to disconnect these taillight connectors from the housing. It may be necessary to take a small pocket screw driver just to gently pry loose on the clip so that we do not break it. I am going to do this for both connectors. 1:05
I am going to set my lens assembly aside. OK, now we are going to go ahead and take our new wiring harness. Feed it down through the taillight assembly. You will notice that we are sending down the 4-pole plug and the yellow and drown wire connector as we will route them to the center of the vehicle and to the left taillight. OK, we will be taking our new T-one connector and plugging in with the manufacturers harness. This will be the black connector. You want to make sure you line up these two arrows before making your connection. Firmly press them together, locking the tabs in place. Now we can go ahead and reinstall the right rear taillight lens. We are just going to reinstall our wire connectors in the same fashion that we took them apart. Install our lens back on the truck in just the reverse order of what we took it apart. 2:20
As you can see, we are under the vehicle now. We have our wires that we fed down behind the taillight. We are going to route them over towards the center of the vehicle. I am going to kind of get a position of where I am going to mount my 4-pole. And then I will come back and zip-tie that off. Go ahead and route the yellow and brown wire over to the passenger side. Then I am just going to set it up in here, behind the taillight lens. And our next step is to remove the driver side, or left, taillight lens to make our connections there. It may be necessary to gently pry the lens away from the body of the vehicle. Here is a tech tip. If you are having trouble disconnecting the connection, you can actually unplug the socket, set the lens out of your way and then use your screw driver to get in there and disconnect your taillight socket. Now I can go ahead and pull my new T-one harness up so we can plug in our new harness into the manufacturers connector, firmly pressing them together making sure they lock in place. 3:27
Now that we have made our connection, we can go ahead and reinstall the socket into the taillight. Feed our wiring into the cavity behind the taillight. We will go ahead and reinstall our mounting screws. OK, now we are going to go ahead and pull our wiring together. Just pull in any of the excess wiring that we do not need. We want to zip-tie it up. Make sure it is secure. I am just using a black zip-tie to secure the wiring here behind the hitch. Go ahead and cut off the extra from my zip-tie. Run my 4-pole plug here to my hitch. And that will complete the installation of Tow Ready T-one connector, part number 118323.
