Today we are going to install part number 118304 from Tow Ready. On a 2008 on a Toyota Sienna Mini Van. The first thing we are going to do is remove the tail lights. We will start on the passenger side then work our way over to the driver side. To remove the tail light we have to push down on this pin and pull the connector out. We will go ahead and do the same thing for the other side. The next thing we need to do is to remove this trim panel here. There are 3 of these latches we have to remove all the way across from left to right. Once we have those 3 latches removed we can now take off this back part of trim panel. You have to pry it out and lift it up at the same time and it will come loose. Now at this point we need to pull this panel away.
We do not have to take it out but we need access to get our hands in there to reach the other side of the wiring harness. Watch your hands there are some wires connected to the panel and if you pull too hard you will rip those wires right out. Thats all you need right there to get your hands in there. Might want to get something to pry it open a little more while you keep your hands in there and that is about it. Going back to the passenger side we need to take off the cover panel for the spare tire tools. Also take out the tools so that we have just a little more room to reach the back.
Starting off with the driver side we are going to take the yellow and blue wires and feed them up and pull them through the top hole. Then the tail lights will actually connect there. Now we need to run our wire down and out of the way. The next step we need to go back to the passenger side and run those lights. It is going to red for brake lights and green for running lights. What you do sneak these wires down under the panel down towards the bottom towards the converter box and 4 pole flat. The rest we can just store back in there. Now we need to run this wire up and through the plastic here. Then it can come out by the tail light and make our connection. The remaining wires we are going to tuck behind the plastic here and out of the way of the jack tools. Now you want to keep this box on the inside and we are going to run the ground wire. You want to find something that is kind of laminated in between 2 pieces of metal. So that you have more metal to run your attachment point into. What we are going to do is drill our ground point through these 2 pieces of metal here. Then we will sneak all this wire up behind it and pull it up to the hole. We are still going to take our box here and tuck it near the bottom. On a flat spot you can actually use adhesive to hold it into place. Then put it as far to the bottom as possible. Now we will pull out our 4-pole bundle and pull them out of the way. Now we can reinstall our jack tools and make sure everything fits.
While we are here you can shut this panel and then drape the harness over the edge of the bumper. We will cover that in a little more detail later. At this point we go back and start assembling our plastic components. Go ahead and push this component back into place then we will put our tracking back down. Now we can put our tail lights back together. We will start with the passenger side. Right now our install is basically complete. We will now show you how to use the harness when your plugged into the trailer. You will have the harness pulled out and draped over the back of the bumper like so. Now shut the tailgate and as you notice there is plenty of room under there with a seal. You can go ahead and pull the harness out for as much as you need. There you have it for the install of part number 118304. Which is T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness from Tow Ready. Installed on a 2008 on a Toyota Sienna Mini Van.

Installation was easy, and took a little less than an hour. I'd share pictures, but there's nothing to see when installed, until you pull the trailer harness out of the storage area to use it. (Makes the wife happy I'm not junking-up her van...) NOTE: It is not entirely clear which direction to move the tail-lights to get them off. You have to pull the assembly to the left or right of the vehicle to dis-engage two pins that hold the front section of the light.6732

Super Service and great product This is not the first time I've had the pleasure of dealing with etrailer. Again, I've purchased a 2" hitch receiver (previously for an RV, this time for a Sienna). I also picked up T-One wire harness for 4-pole lights (1 for the Sienna, another for a Jeep). Packaging is designed to withstand the abuse of UPS kicking the things off the truck. I'm not kidding here. Also, somebody clearly tried to reach in through the "handhold' in the carton to purloin one of the wire harnesses. Hahahaha, etrailer had you figured out. It was strapped to the hitch receiver bar, most ingeniously. I hope the dude (or dudette) broke a fingernail in the process (grin). Naturallly, the products go on like applying butter to toast when you buy the correct product for your vehicle. If in doubt, just call etrailer. If they are not perfectly 100% sure, they call the factory! Really cool when you have product shipped to a different state and it's exactly correct when you get there. Well, I once had a shipment direct from the factory that did not have the mounting hardware (just a little oops from the factory, not etrailer's fault). A call to etrailer, who called the factory, and the next day the hardware showed up. Now THAT's great service, and is one of the reasons I only deal with etrailer for stuff like this. I don't bother with local suppliers, because they can't get it any cheaper or faster than etrailer, and when something goes wrong, etrailer is *days* faster in making it whole again. Watch the video! Excellent wiring harness. Fits perfectly and easy to install, but I highly recommend you watch the installation video(s). The printed instructions seem harder to follow and neglect to tell you about installing the grounding wire (which is covered in the video). Still, I can certainly recommend this for 2006 Toyota Sienna.2884

Good Product, Good Value Installed on May 7, 2009, using a 2009 Toyota Sienna Limited: Very good product with adequate length and good quality wiring and connectors. The online instructions video is fine, but the written instructions that came with the kit are poor, even inadequate, so the installer will need to figure out some things on his own. If installed exactly as per the instructions, in fact, the wiring won't even work because the white wire must be grounded Installation took about one hour. If doing it again, maybe 25-30 mins.1829

great-just plugs in I agree that the instructions need clarification re removing light assemblies. Please note that in addition to the two 10mm screws, there are two studs near the forward edge of each plastic light assembly. These "jamb" into the side of the car body. Use a long reach screw-driver (wrapped with cloth to prevent paint damage to car) to pry stud out from side of car body. (these "studs" similar to interior body panel studs and will pop out) Hold the screw-driver horizontal with the point facing forward while gently pulling light assembly out to allow for space for screw-driver. Except for time spent on light-assembly removal, I could have had this harness in place in about 25 minutes. No worry about splices or crimps like universal harnesses use. If you are concerned about reliability, use this product.1690

Good Product, OK Instructions This wiring adapter seems to work fine, but the instructions are just a bit weak. The connectors and wire seem to be of good quality. The connectors fit well and the wire lengths were sufficiently long. I have not used it with a trailer yet; I just checked the wiring using a 12-volt test light. I do not expect any problems in actual use. I thought the instructions could have been better. One thing that wasn’t clear is that after removing the screws holding the taillights in place you need to gently pry out the forward part of the taillight assemblies to finish removing them. (I used a plastic putty knife.) There was no mention of installing the ground wire – it’s white with a ring-lug installed on the end of it. (I suggest mounting it to the double-wall area of the rear body panel just to the right of the rear-hatch latch. It took about an hour to install and most of that was the time required to remove and replace the trim pieces. As always, use great care when removing trim to avoid damaging the trim or the mounting “pins”.506

45 minute install was very easy. The video on the website was perfect for pre-install review. What a brilliant idea to make a product that can be stored in a compartment and only pulled out when needed. I don't have exposed cables that would have to stand up to the elements and since it's inside a compartment it's out of the hands of my kids...that will extend the life of the product for sure and assures me it will work when I need it. 26637

After watching the video this was an easy install on my 2005 Sienna mini van. The only thing I did differently was I ran the trailer end of the harness under the carpet and connected to a 7 pole adapter mounted on the hitch. The wires run through a rubber plug under the floor and this is sealed up with caulk.25727

As noted in other reviews, the written instruction are less than good, but the online install video is great and answers any questions. Easy install, took me 20 minutes tops. By the way, after years of working with a screwdriver and/or pliars, I purchased a 'trim panel removal' tool for this job. As they say...the right tool makes all the differnce. We use our hitch (also bought from etrailer) mostly for a bike rack. Bought this product to use in the rare event we tow something that needs lights. There was no way I was going to splice into my light wiring using a generic trailer lighting kit once I saw how tightly it was wired. Spotted this on the internet and watched the video(very helpful). Cost a bit more but couldn't have been any simpler or quicker to do. Unplug the harness from the lights and plug it into this harness and then this harness to your lights. Only screw up was not being careful enough removing one of the taillights and I broke it so had to get a new tail light.13206
