Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness by Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch and Reese
Installation: Connection point is located underneath the truck bed near the driver's side frame rail. The 4-pole trailer connector will be stowed under the vehicle close to the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket is recommended.
Tech Tip: It is always a good idea to apply a small amount of grease to all electrical connections to help prevent corrosion.

Today we are working on a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado. We will be installing Tow Ready T-One connector part number 118301. Our first step is going to be locating the vehicles rear tail light wiring harness here, up above the spare tire. Then separating the manufacturers connections. Press on the locking tab and separate the two connection points. Now we can take our new Tow Ready connector, which has identical connection points and connect in line with the manufacturers harness. Press them together firmly, so they securely lock in place. Repeat this step on both sides. 0:38
With our connections made, we need to locate a suitable grounding point for our white ground wire. Right here on the bottom side of the cross member is a perfect location to mount our ground wire. I will go ahead and use the self tapping bit from our installation kit to install it now. With our ground wire attached we can go ahead and mount our converter box. Here on the back side of the hitch is a perfect location to do so. It is a clean and flat area. We will remove the double sided tape and firmly press it against the back side of the hitch to get a good cohesive connection. 1:18
With our converter box mounted, we can route our new 4-pole connection over to the center of the hitch. With my 4-pole connection routed, I have some extra wire. What I am going to do is take the zip tie that is provided in the installation kit and wrap it around my extra wire and converter box to tidy up our wires just a bit here. I am going to take one more black zip tie, and tidy up the loom between the converter box and the connection points. Clip off the extra length from the zip ties. This completes the installation of Tow Ready T-One connector part number 118301.
