Today were going to review part number 118243. This is the Tow Ready Ford replacement OEM tow package wiring harness. This harness is designed to fit on a 1999 to 2001 Ford Super Duty Trucks with the OEM four-way flat wiring. This kit, this will allow you to upgrade your four-way on your vehicle to a seven-way connector. Now once you do connect this and use it as a seven-way, the four-way flat would not be functional. Now also this can be used if you do have a factory seven-way.
This can be used to replace that if that is damaged. It does install in seconds. The fuses and the relays are all included, and to install it basically, this end of the wiring harness, this plug right here what youll need to do is locate the vehicles wiring harness plug on your vehicle. Its usually underneath on the rear normally by the drivers side frame rail behind the bumper, and the plug should match the trailer wiring harness end. You just plug that in.
This other end would plug into the back of your seven-way. You just install this seven-way onto your bumper, and basically if you just push those together it would snap into place and you would have your seven-way on your bumper of your vehicle. Now it does install in seconds. Basically, what youd want to do is on the Ford Super Duties theres usually two boxes in your engine compartment, a larger box which is the power distribution box, and the smaller box attached to it which is the trailer tow relay block. What youll do is open the covers on both of them and then that way youll be able to access the connections where these fuses and relays would go to.
What youll do is on the bigger box, the power distribution box, youll need to look in your owners manual and find the location for the trailer tow electric brake and the trailer tow battery charge fuse locations and then youll just take these two 30 amp maxi fuses and insert it into those locations and then go to the smaller trailer tow relay block which was attached to it to the bigger box and youll look in your owners manual and find the location for the trailer tow backup lamp relay and the trailer tow battery charge relay locations and then youll just insert these relays into those locations, put the covers back on and youd be ready to go. That should do it for review on part number 118243.

I bought the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, 7-Way (#118243); Mounting Bracket for Pollack 7-Pole (#PK12711U); Pollack Installation Hardware (#PK11926); No-drill mount bracket (#18136); Tekonsha Plug-in Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controller for Ford (#3035-P); and Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller (#90195). 30 minutes of install time for both the trailer brake and the 7-way trailer connector, and I was up and running, and that included the time to remove the factory 4-pole connector. Easy install. Watch the video on the Tow Package Wiring Harness; I watched it twice then went out to my truck and did the install with no problems. I ordered from etrailer.com before, and both times have had a great experience with them. I'll definitely be back.77217

Should have bought the factory end. The wiring harness on my truck didn't match. I had to cutoff my old end and re-terminated to the new plug in order to make it work. Kind of defeated the purpose of having factory made ends.54178
This connector is only compatible with 1999-2001 F-250F-350 Super Duties. It will also work with 1999-2001 F-450/550 Cab and Chassis with factory 4 connectors and 2001 F-350 Cab and Chassis with factory 4 connector.

I purchased the 90° 7-pole wiring harness for the bed of my F250 and the OEM replacement 7-pin harness for the rear bumper. I'm the 2nd owner and for a long time I left the plastic bed-liner in it. When I removed it recently I discovered there was a hole in the bedside from the previous owner. I use my truck to pull a fifth-wheel camper too, and the bumper wiring harness pretty much maxes out my trailer's pigtail. Both wiring harnesses were very easy to install, and I was even able to trim the spacer provided with the kit to fit the contour of the bed where the previous owner had drilled the hole. It looks like it came installed from the factory!36224

I bought a plug from Gaudin Ford that supposedly was for my truck- 1999 F250 Super Duty and it did not work. I found this site and took a chance and ordered the plug for a 1999 F250 Super Duty and it works perfectly! Half the price of the dealer and they offered to exchange it if it did not work- Ford said no exchanges or returns on their electrical. Thanks for your help in finding the right plug!77221
