Today on a 2009 Pontiac Solstice we are going to install part number 11119 from Curt. First we will go ahead and show you where the hitch will mount up onto the frame. As you can see there is an oval hole off to the left-hand side. The hardware is going to use that existing hole to attach the hitch to. However o n some models there is two existing holes, if the second additional hole is not already drilled in the frame you will need to drill it out yourself. As shown here this is the drivers side which is identical to the passenger side.
We are going to start off by marking our holes to drill. On the hitch itself you measure the holes centers to be 3 inches even. So basically we are going to measure from this center oval hole here and come straight back about 3 inches and mark our hole. We will go ahead and drill it out with a1/ 4 inch pilot hole and follow up with a larger bit. Sometimes this little tab, or punch out is in the way a little bit, what you want to do is take a pry bar, or handle of the breaker bar and push it out of the way as needed. Okay we will take a bolt leader and put it through the first hole that we drilled and out through our access hole here. Put the block in first, then thread on the bolt and pop everything in and pull it back out. This time go in the same access hole and come right back out. Our bolt on the bolt leader, and block. And this time we will go ahead and start with that going in first then our block and come right back down. And do the same exact procedure on the passenger side.
Put it up at an angle like this, the hitch is going to be out towards the back then we will rotate it underneath the bumper and back up. And we will slide our hardware on. All right we have a little clearance in the holes of the hitch so you can take a moment, leave everything loose and move around as needed, get it centered the best way possible. Go ahead and snug down the bolts. All right we have them snugged down so we can go ahead and torque down the bolts as specified in the instructions. And that finishes our install of part number 11119 from Curt.

Easy install. Works Great! Install was a breeze. Can't even tell I have this on my car. The side brackets touch the exhaust support rodes, but I was able to put a piece of heavy duty rubber between the supports and the brackets so there is no vibration. Great Product. Fast shpping. A must.2211

Solstice with a Hitch! I use this hitch on my solstice to tow a tent-trailer (1500 pounds loaded)and it's pretty cool to see peoples faces at the camp site. The installation is pretty fast (25 min for me). The only thing is that the ball mount that come with the kit is to low so I had to buy another one with 5'' rise. By the way, great service from etrailer.com and fast shipping to Canada, Thanks 746
