Today we are going to install part number 11110 from Curt, and we are going to install this on a 2010 Kia Soul. First, to install the hitch, we are going to have to lower the exhaust. Disconnect this rubber hanger right here, and this rubber hanger here.We are going to spray it down this hanger with some lubricant. And then we can slide it off.

Next what is going to happen is we are going to take down the interior fender well liners here. We will put them back in when we are done.What is going to happen is, the hitch is going to install in the bottom of the frame, where this tow hook is right here. This hook is going to be removed, and it is going to use this bolt here and another bolt on the other side. And also there are two bolts on the back side of this, alongside of the frame, that the hitch will bolt onto there. There are going to be four on the passengers side. On the outboard side of the frame, on the drivers side, where we are looking here, there are two threaded holes there. This side only uses two holes.

At this point we can go ahead and install the hitch onto the vehicle. What we are going to do is put the hitch over the tailpipe and kind of work it in between the bumper cover and the tailpipe, and then we will just go ahead and slide it into position then. It would be good if you have an extra set of hands, too. Now we can go ahead and snug the bolts down. All right, at this time we can torque down the bolts, as specified in the instructions. OK, we are at the point where we can go ahead and reattach our exhaust. We will slide it back onto the rubber hangers. Now we will go ahead and put the fender well liners back into place. All right, that finishes it for our install of part number 11110 from Curt.

This Curt hitch for our new Kia Soul was EXACTLY as described. it looked great, was easy to install and fit perfectly. The wiring kit made it TOO easy to connect to the car. Just be sure to flip the electronic box over and let the green and red wires be at the bottom, otherwise the harness will be too short to connect to the passenger side tail light connector. The fit and finish as well as the completed hitch look like a factory installed unit. The shipping was extra-fast (Thanks etrailer!). It arrived in time for me to install over the weekend! Well built, installed easily on 2011 Kia Soul. Used a ratchet for the bolts, and a screwdriver to remove inner wheel well liners. The only part of the hitch that can be seen after install is the receiver tube and loops for safety chain.23427

Product as described and seems to be well built. Video was very helpful and only took me 40 minutes. Only complaint is that the receiver hitch is a little loose and needs a small shim. Also, partly due to me being a newb with trailer hitches, I needed a 1" 7/8 ball and I ordered a 2" so I wasted $10 bucks.10345

There are adapters available like part # HTAD to convert a 1-1/4 inch hitch opening to a 2 inch opening. However, using any adapter will cut your hitch capacity in half, so you will need to ensure that the weight of the bike rack, bikes, and any items in your rear cargo area will not exceed 100 pounds total. The ballmount, pin and clip are packaged with the hitch and the installation hardware and we cannot separate them. Curt includes them, because on Class I and II hitches, only certain ball mounts should be used. If you do not want a hitch with the draw bar and pin and clip, I would suggest Draw-Tite part # 24839. What Is The Stabilizing Strap That Is Needed For A Curt Class I Hitch On A 2010 Kia Soul
The Curt Bike Rack Strap, # 18050, will attach to the bike rack and the other end to the vehicles trunk lip or window. It gives added support and stability to the bike rack and keeps the movement of the bike rack to a minimum, which puts less stress on the hitch.
