Leaf springs are an integral part of your trailer suspension system. The double-eye spring is suspended at the ends by hangers that attach to its eye or, in the case of tandem-axle or triple-axle systems, into hangers in the front and rear and an equalizer or equalizers in the center. To determine the type of hangers or hanger kit you need, you must know the specific type of leaf spring you have, as well as your axle diameter and capacity. Depending on the hanger kits used with them, springs can be configured to work for single-, tandem- or triple-axle applications.
Please Note: To ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs.

Today, we'll be taking a look at part number: 1020. The 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,000-lb axles. This spring does have 3 leaves within it giving it the ability to support 1,000 lbs. When you multiply that by 2 per axle, you get your 2,000 lb axle capacity. Before selecting a new spring for your trailer, there are a few things you do need to know first. This spring measures 20-1/4" long by 1-3/4" wide.
You do need to know the spring's half-length, which is measured from the center of the mounting bolt eye to the center of the spring here at the leaf bolt. This spring's half-length is 10-3/16". One final thing you will need to know is the spring height. To get this, you'll draw a line from the center of the mounting bolt eye to the center of the mounting bolt eye on the other side, and you'll measure from that line to the spring surface here at the spring bolt. This spring's heigh is 3-3/16".
It does have two 9/16" mounting bolt holes with nylon bushings in them. And that does it for part number: 1020, the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,000-lb axles.
