Video Transcript for Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Ford F-150
Today were going to do a test fit of the Thule square loadbar roof-rack kit with traverse speed on our 2011 Ford F150. Weve got already a little bar in feet assemble so lets go ahead and put them on the vehicle. Lets start by opening up both front door and placing the loadbar on the vehicle. Place the loadbar properly we need a measure of 10 and 1/8 inches from where the edge of the windshield and meets the edge of the sheet-metal on top of the roof-rack. All right now, weve got a front loadbar measure out in place and we start turning it down. Well take up some of the slacks on the clamps and then well tighten it down with the included torque tool specifications.
Now from the loadbar set-up we can go ahead and install the rear loadbar. The rear bar is going to sit 29 and 78 inches from the front bar and measurement will be from between the center of the front loadbar and the center of the rear loadbar. Now weve got the read loadbar in place, we can go ahead and tighten it down just as we did at the front bar. The two step process help prevent the bar from shifting, moving and losing their position while being tighten down. Once youve finished tighten down the real loadbar we simply put the torque tool inside the foot pack and close the door.
That will finish the test fit of the Thule square loadbar roof-rack kit on our 2011 Ford F150.
I went out into our showroom and measured the dimensions of a set of Thule square bars like the part # THLB58 and found that they are 7/8 of an inch by 1-1/4 inches.
Check out the video I attached to see these measurements being taken. view full answer...
Yes, the Thule Traverse roof rack # THLB58 will fit your 2015 Ford F-150 Super Crew Cab with a naked roof just fine as long as your square crossbars are 58 inches or longer.
The foot pack you will need is the Thule Traverse # TH480 and Thule roof-rack fit kit for Traverse foot packs is # THKIT1521. It is a confirmed fit on your 2015 Ford F-150.
I included a informative article about roof racks for you too. view full answer...

The toughest part of any roof rack that is designed to fit your Jeep is that they will whistle on the highway. The roof rack we offer that is designed for your vehicle with no rain gutters is the Thule Roof Rack. This system features square load bars which will create noise when attached to the roof of your Wrangler. To order view full answer...
I have included a link to all of the roof rack options that will fit a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with a hard top. There are several options but if you want quiet then you will want to go with either a Whispbar system.
For a Whispbar system you will need the following parts:
Whispbar Flush Bar Roof Rack, # WB-S11
Rain Gutter Fit Kit, # WB-K324
The only issue is that with the available roof racks, the crossbar spread is so close, at most 20 inches wide, that there are not a lot of accessories view full answer...
If you are wanting to remove the factory side rails that run front to back on your 2012 Toyota Sequoia, I do not recommend doing so. These rails were meant to be permanently installed on your vehicle and should not be removed. These rails are bolted and sealed to the roof and water could leak into the vehicle if they are removed and other damage could occur such as denting and scratching on the roof.
If you are wanting to remove the crossbars that run from side to side and attach to view full answer...
The different components that make up the Thule Traverse roof rack for your 2014 Dodge 1500 crew cab have differing ratings. The load bars # THLB58 for example are themselves rated for 165-lbs while the foot pack and fit kit are rated lower, 130-lbs.
It can also be that the vehicle has a lower roof weight rating than any of the rack system components. Whenever different parts of a system have different ratings, the lowest-rated one determines the overall capacity.

It may be possible to use the 50 inch Thule Square Crossbars, # THLB50, on your 2012 Ford Explorer with the Thule Crossroads Feet, # TH450, but we have not tested them on this vehicle. After looking at the test fit videos that we have done on a 2011 and a 2014 Explorer, it appears that there is enough room to go down to a 50 inch bar, but you may not be able to fit the end caps on the bars. To verify this, you can measure from the outside of one of the roof side rails to the outside of view full answer...
The Thule Square Load Bar # THLB58 and # TH300 that you referenced will fit your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Advantages of the square bars are: they are economical, a fit for virtually any roof mount accessory and are made out of galvanized steel.
This system consists of 1 set of the Thule Load Bars # THLB58 and 1 set of the Thule Gutter Feet # TH300.
To make your Thule square bars a bit more aerodynamic, Thule offers a Fairing # TH873XT which will cut your wind noise. Thule also view full answer...
Apparently, your Cherokee is a bit of an odd duck. The 2014 Cherokee usually left the factory with at least the side rails that run front to back along the edge of the roof to provide an attachment point for crossbars.
Luckily, one of our roof rack vendors, Rhino-Rack comes stampeding to the rescue, with a rack option that's compatible with your Cherokee. To install a rack on your Cherokee, you'll need the following parts:
Vehicle specific clamp kit, part # DK398

Since you are not adverse to drilling your vehicle roof and your camper shell I would recommend going with a Thule Podium Roof Mounted Foot Pack. You can use the square load bars, # THLB58, with the # TH460 Foot Pack or the Rapid Aero Load Bars, # THARB60, with the # TH460R Foot Pack.
To mount the foot packs to the sheet metal roof on your 2006 Toyota Tundra you will need the Thule direct mount system # THKIT3114, which does require drilling into the roof of your vehicle.

There are several options for roof racks for your 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan, see link. If you are looking for something that is just functional and will not break the bank then the most economical system is going to be a Yakima round bar system made of the following parts:
58 Inch crossbars, # Y00409
Q 57 clips, # Y00657 (you will need to order 2 of these)
Q Towers, # Y00124

You should have no problem using the 50 inch Thule Square Bars part # THLB50 on your 2003 Toyota Highlander with raised side rails.

To be able to carry 2 kayaks on the roof may pose a problem due to the room. Using the Thule Hull-A-Port J-Style Rooftop Kayak Carrier, part # TH834, it is recommended you do not attach the carrier to the portion of the crossbar that sticks outward from the feet of view full answer...
For a roof rack that I can safely recommend for your 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a hard top I would recommend the part numbers # THLB58 and # TH300. You can go with the longer crossbars like the 65 inch bars part # THLB65 with the Thule Gutter Feet part # TH300, but you will need to be aware of the wider bars. Specifically when driving close to a building or garage door, and when getting in and out of the vehicle. view full answer...
For your 2010 Wrangler with no top you would want the Thule Roof Rack # THARB53 and # TH450R.
I would recommend the Yakima BigStack 2 Kayak Carrier, part # Y04041, which would mount directly to the HighRock Rack. The carrier also includes bow/stern tie downs.
Keep in mind that since the bars will be located over the rear portion of your Jeep, the length of the kayaks will not be centered on the vehicle. view full answer...
Since you say your 1995 Volvo 960 Wagon did not come with a roof rack, I assume it has a bare roof with no side rails. Some wagon models of the 960 came with factory installed side rails that run from front to back on the sides of the roof. I have attached a generic photo showing the difference between a bare roof and factory side rails.
I have attached a link to all of the roof rack options available for your 960 wagon with a bare roof. Of the available options, I would recommend the view full answer...
It looks like it would be pretty close, but you should be able to go with the shorter 50 inch cross bar # THLB50 on the roof of your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. If you check out the picture I attached you will see what the roof rack will look like with 58 inch crossbars. It would appear that there is more than 4 inches of overhang on either side of the Foot Pack # TH300 so the shorter bars would work.
Ideally I would recommend the 58 inch bar and then trim it down for your application. view full answer...

If you do not have the # TH400XT support feet and cross bars to transfer then the best route, for a roof rack to carry your kayak, is to use the Thule Roof-Rack Fit Kit for Traverse Foot Packs, item # THKIT1531, Thule Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack, item # TH480, Thule view full answer...
I did a little research and found that the recommended cross bar spread on your vehicle is 38 inches, center to center, between the bars. Making the spread larger could cause problems with the side rails or another component in the roof rack system. But I do have a solution for you to carry a canoe on your 2004 Lexus GX470.

These steel load bars attach to Thule roof-rack feet to create a sturdy, convenient roof-mounted rack. Durable plastic coating resists corrosion and provides cushion for your load. Accommodates accessories that clamp around bars.
The LB are very well built and sturdy. My set up with the bars, feet, and two sidearm bike holders is quite heavy. It is difficult to lift the whole thing off the top of my truck cap by myself. I would have considered the aero bars had I thought weight was going to be an issue. At least I think they are lighter. Overall very happy with my setup. Etrailer was excellent, great prices, quick and efficient service.
The roof rack I ordered for my husband was what he wanted for Christmas. He wanted to mount fishing pole holders on the crossbars so when he goes fishing with his buddies he does not have to stuff his poles inside his Jeep Rubicon. I really don't understand why he needed them, but this is what he wanted, the old saying of needing and wanting. He was mounting them yesterday to make sure they fit, he was so happy, now we will have to wait till we go up to our summer home in Utah to use them. I also ordered a pole holder from Cabella's which mounts on the bar, it looks real good.

This is my fourth set of Thule racks. I purchased a new car and had to change designs again. These racks are a must have for anyone who uses their vehicle for biking, water sports, snow sports, camping, transporting wood, etc. Also, I have been super impressed with e-trailer. If they carry something, I don't even consider purchasing it elsewhere. Their customer service is amazing, shipping is fast, and their prices are usually the best. Their install videos are helpful for their products too.
Works great. I put them farther back than recommended in the instructions for my specific vehicle so the spacing between bars was greater. Once I got the placement where I wanted them, I unistalled and cut off the excess tube then reinstalled. I replaced all the little plastic tightning nuts with real nuts and washers. I keep the rails and bike holders all together as one unit. I take the entire assembly on and off the vehicle as needed as one unit.
by: Steve S.01/03/2014
No one should need more than twenty minutes to assemble this roof rack. If you're good mechanically, it'll be less than ten minutes.
Excellent design, intuitive assembly -- it doesn't get much better than this.
Great work everyone. I got the package the next day and it was all together and packed professionally. You should be proud. Keep up the good work. If I ever need anything you will be the first ones I will call.

This product produces wind noise when travelling above 25 mph. The crossbars extend several inches beyond the outer edge of the car as if it were not taylor made for this car. In fact, the directions made specific reference to Ford and I specifically ordered this for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Very much disappointed with the product.
The square load bars are one of 2-3 components vehicle dependent required to complete an installation. 4 different lengths are offered, and the closest is recommended for each vehicle. If extension beyond the foot and roof are not desired there is also the Edge system for vehicles which eliminate at the attachment point. As for the noise, a fairing is offered as an accessory to help cut down on the wind noise.

Thanks for the info Mike. Fairings can be a great addition, especially with the Thule square bar systems. According to the Thule Fit Guide the 38 inch fairing is recommended for your 2014 Jeep Cherokee and that is # TH871XT Thule Fairing for Roof Racks - 38" Long $99.95. Additional fairings are available in the 52 inch length, # TH873XT Thule Fairing for Roof Racks - 52" Long $99.95, the 44 inch length, # TH872XT Thule Fairing for Roof Racks - 44" Long $99.95, the and the 32 inch length # TH870XT Thule Fairing for Roof Racks - 32" Long $99.95.

I am happy to receive the above product BUT....it should have been part of my original order. There is no way I could have ordered the feet and connectors to my vehicle without this attachment. The rack came earlier than expected and undamaged. It was just as described.
