Video Transcript for Thule Loadbar Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Jeep Wrangler
Today, on our 2011 Jeep Wrangler, we'll be test fitting the Thule Gutter Low Feet Roof Rack System using part numbers THLB58 and TH300. We'll begin our test fit by placing the front bar onto the front of our roof. Now, since our vehicle is equipped with a hard top, we'll measure from the crease, from the first part of the window to the roof back to the first part of the foot. We'll measure this on both the passenger and driver side of the vehicle to ensure the front bar is perpendicular to the roof. With the front bar in place, we can then take out our hardware and thread our bolt through the backside of the hole in the foot. We'll then place our black clip over the bolt, slide our washer onto our bolt, and then thread our black hand knob on. We can then tighten down the black hand knob to bring the clip up around tightly against the roof of our Jeep.
We'll then repeat these steps for the other side. With everything all tightened down, we'll go ahead and place the rear bar onto the rear of our roof. We'll then go ahead and measure the load bar spread. Now, the load bar spread is the measurement from the center of the front load bar to the center of the rear load bar. You can go ahead and set your load bar spread according to your roof accessories in which you're going to install.
This measurement will also help the bars be parallel to each other. With the rear bar in position, we can again take the bolt and insert it through the backside of the foot, slide our clip onto the bolt, our washer, and then our black hand knob. And then we can turn the black knob to tighten on the clips up against the roof. We can then repeat the same process for the other side. With everything all tightened down and secured, that'll complete today's test fit for the Thule Gutter Low Feet Roof Rack System using part numbers THLB58 and TH300 on our 2011 Jeep Wrangler. .
We do offer a roof rack for your 2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a hard top. You should be aware that anything attached to the roof of your Jeep will create noise,
The toughest part of any roof rack that is designed to fit your Jeep is that they will whistle on the highway. The roof rack we offer that is designed for your vehicle with no rain gutters is the Thule Roof Rack. This system features square load bars which will create noise when attached to the roof of your Wrangler. To order view full answer...
I went out into our showroom and measured the dimensions of a set of Thule square bars like the part # THLB58 and found that they are 7/8 of an inch by 1-1/4 inches.
Check out the video I attached to see these measurements being taken. view full answer...
I have included a link to all of the roof rack options that will fit a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with a hard top. There are several options but if you want quiet then you will want to go with either a Whispbar system.
For a Whispbar system you will need the following parts:
Whispbar Flush Bar Roof Rack, # WB-S11
Rain Gutter Fit Kit, # WB-K324
The only issue is that with the available roof racks, the crossbar spread is so close, at most 20 inches wide, that there are not a lot of accessories view full answer...
It may be possible to use the 50 inch Thule Square Crossbars, # THLB50, on your 2012 Ford Explorer with the Thule Crossroads Feet, # TH450, but we have not tested them on this vehicle. After looking at the test fit videos that we have done on a 2011 and a 2014 Explorer, it appears that there is enough room to go down to a 50 inch bar, but you may not be able to fit the end caps on the bars. To verify this, you can measure from the outside of one of the roof side rails to the outside of view full answer...
If you are wanting to remove the factory side rails that run front to back on your 2012 Toyota Sequoia, I do not recommend doing so. These rails were meant to be permanently installed on your vehicle and should not be removed. These rails are bolted and sealed to the roof and water could leak into the vehicle if they are removed and other damage could occur such as denting and scratching on the roof.
If you are wanting to remove the crossbars that run from side to side and attach to view full answer...
The Thule Square Load Bar # THLB58 and # TH300 that you referenced will fit your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Advantages of the square bars are: they are economical, a fit for virtually any roof mount accessory and are made out of galvanized steel.
This system consists of 1 set of the Thule Load Bars # THLB58 and 1 set of the Thule Gutter Feet # TH300.
To make your Thule square bars a bit more aerodynamic, Thule offers a Fairing # TH873XT which will cut your wind noise. Thule also view full answer...
Apparently, your Cherokee is a bit of an odd duck. The 2014 Cherokee usually left the factory with at least the side rails that run front to back along the edge of the roof to provide an attachment point for crossbars.
Luckily, one of our roof rack vendors, Rhino-Rack comes stampeding to the rescue, with a rack option that's compatible with your Cherokee. To install a rack on your Cherokee, you'll need the following parts:
Vehicle specific clamp kit, part # DK398
Aero style crossbars, view full answer...
You should have no problem using the 50 inch Thule Square Bars part # THLB50 on your 2003 Toyota Highlander with raised side rails.
The other part you will need is the Thule Crossroad Roof Mounted Roof Railing Foot Pack # TH450.
I attached an install video for this rack on a similar Highlander as yours, you'll notice that the crossbars used are 50 inch. view full answer...
As long as both your kayaks do not exceed the 150 lb weight limit of the rack system, you can indeed carry kayaks with the Bestop HighRock Overhead Rack # B4141501.
I would recommend the Yakima BigStack 2 Kayak Carrier, part # Y04041, which would mount directly to the HighRock Rack. The carrier also includes bow/stern tie downs.
Keep in mind that since the bars will be located over the rear portion of your Jeep, the length of the kayaks will not be centered on the vehicle. view full answer...
Since you are not adverse to drilling your vehicle roof and your camper shell I would recommend going with a Thule Podium Roof Mounted Foot Pack. You can use the square load bars, # THLB58, with the # TH460 Foot Pack or the Rapid Aero Load Bars, # THARB60, with the # TH460R Foot Pack.
To mount the foot packs to the sheet metal roof on your 2006 Toyota Tundra you will need the Thule direct mount system # THKIT3114, which does require drilling into the roof of your vehicle.

It looks like it would be pretty close, but you should be able to go with the shorter 50 inch cross bar # THLB50 on the roof of your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. If you check out the picture I attached you will see what the roof rack will look like with 58 inch crossbars. It would appear that there is more than 4 inches of overhang on either side of the Foot Pack # TH300 so the shorter bars would work.
Ideally I would recommend the 58 inch bar and then trim it down for your application. view full answer...
There are several options for roof racks for your 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan, see link. If you are looking for something that is just functional and will not break the bank then the most economical system is going to be a Yakima round bar system made of the following parts:
58 Inch crossbars, # Y00409
Q 57 clips, # Y00657 (you will need to order 2 of these)
Q Towers, # Y00124
If you are looking for a more high-end system with aerodynamic bars that are going to be quieter and have view full answer...
We do sell the Thule Roof Rack, part # THLB58, and part # TH300 you referenced on our site. Pricing and availability are found through the product link that I have attached to the answer page for you.
We offer a variety of roof racks that fit your 1991 Jeep Cherokee. The roof rack you referenced fits models that have no existing rails or crossbars.
If your Cherokee has the factory installed tracks that run front to back I would recommend the Yakima Control Tower Roof Rack. This view full answer...
Since you say your 1995 Volvo 960 Wagon did not come with a roof rack, I assume it has a bare roof with no side rails. Some wagon models of the 960 came with factory installed side rails that run from front to back on the sides of the roof. I have attached a generic photo showing the difference between a bare roof and factory side rails.
I have attached a link to all of the roof rack options available for your 960 wagon with a bare roof. Of the available options, I would recommend the view full answer...
Thank you for your recent purchase. The Thule Traverse Roof Rack System you have, which consists of parts # THLB58, # TH480 and # THKIT1510, is a specified fit for your 2012 Honda Pilot with naked roof. I re-confirmed this with Thule.
Like most roof racks this Thule system is designed to be installed in a specific location on your roof. Rack makers design these to mount at the points on the vehicle that offer the most structural strength.
I am not clear about what aspect of the installation view full answer...
I have a Thule roof rack that will fit your 2014 Volkswagen Passat, but I spoke with my contact at Thule and she said the Aero 400 foot pack is no longer being fitted to new vehicles, so they do not have a fit kit for your Passat. The Aero 400 roof racks are no longer in production and they were replaced with the Traverse roof racks which use different fit kits.
If you would like to use a Thule roof rack on your Passat, I recommend looking at the Traverse or the Rapid Traverse roof racks. view full answer...
Since you have a Thule square bar roof rack on your 1999 Ford F350 all you would really need to install the feet and bars of the rack to your 2014 Hyundai Sonata would be the correct fit kit. Which would be the part # THKIT1577.
The feet # TH480 and crossbars # THLB65 that you currently have would work fine. However, the recommended bars for your Sonata are the 58 inch bars # THLB58. If you can deal with the longer 65 inch bars and they do not extend past your mirrors they would work view full answer...
You can go with the longer crossbars like the 65 inch bars part # THLB65 with the Thule Gutter Feet part # TH300, but you will need to be aware of the wider bars. Specifically when driving close to a building or garage door, and when getting in and out of the vehicle. view full answer...
When you install the roof rack, you will want the ribbed portion of the bar facing upward. I've confirmed this with my Thule representative.
I've linked you to an install video for the roof rack. The exact procedure will vary according to the specific vehicle, but the video will give you the general idea. view full answer...
We offer many rooftop cargo carriers ranging from baskets to boxes and even bags. Before you load a cargo carrier on the roof of your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I would recommend installing a roof rack if you do not already have one.
If you do not already have a roof rack on your Jeep, then I would recommend the Thule roof rack, which consists of the 58 inch square load bars, # THLB58, and the Gutter Feet, # TH300. The feet of this roof rack will mount on the rain gutters on your view full answer...
The Gutter Feet, part # TH300 along with the 65 inch load bars, part # THLB65 is what Thule recommends for your 1996 Bronco.
Installing the load bars on the rain gutters (which are only located on the front portion of the roof above the doors) will give you a bar spread (distance between the front and rear load bar) of only 20 inches, which is shorter than recommended for carrying a long object such as a kayak. If you were to use part # TH542, you would be able to mount one load bar view full answer...
You can use a fairing with the Thule crossbars on your 1998 Jeep Cherokee. You will want to measure the distance between the feet where they attach to the bar to get the correct size. We have several lengths available like the 52 inch # TH873XT. I have included a link to the installation details for you to view.
The fairings are adjustable to get just the right position on your vehicle. I have included a link to a video demo of the Thule fairings for you also. view full answer...
I checked with Thule and if your 2007 Jeep Wrangler has a hard top you will need the following parts:
Load Bars, # THLB58
Gutter Feet, # TH300
You can then install the Hyper XL cargo box # TH612.
If your Jeep has no top, you can use Thule bars # THLB58 and Crossroads foot pack # TH450. You would be able to mount the cargo box with this system installed. This foot pack would attach directly to the roll bar on the Jeep but would only work with the soft top removed. view full answer...
To order a quantity of 2 of the feet of the # TH300 you will need to order a quantity of 2 of the following part numbers:
The artificial rain gutters # TH542 are only sold in 4 though.
For a pair of 8 inch feet like part # TH387 you would need to order a quantity of 2 of all of the above mentioned parts except instead of the # 753-0687, you would get the # 753-0781.
For crossbars you would need # THLB58. view full answer...
As long as the Thule Gutter Feet # TH300 are installed correctly in the rain gutter of your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited you wouldn't have to worry about damage to the pain. We haven't had any issues where people damaged the finish of their vehicles with this roof rack system. view full answer...
I am guessing that you have a hard top on your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that has the removable front panel to act like a sunroof. Is this the case? If so, then there are a few things to keep in mind. First, a roof rack for the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited hard tops use the rain gutters at the edge of the roof. If the rain gutter is attached to the roof panel, then you will have no way to attach the roof rack.
Next, if you only remove the front panel and you plan on using the rain gutters view full answer...
Although the Thule system you referenced would work well, in my opinion the clamp system used by the Rhino Rack Roof Rack is a bit more substantial, and would get a better grip on the rain rain gutter.
You can install a Rhino Rack Roof Rack by using the following parts:
Heavy Duty Crossbars, part # RB1650B-2 for Black or # RB1650 for Silver
Gutter Mount Legs, part # RRRL150GMC
Rhino Rack also offers a padded board carrier, part # RRRWP03. view full answer...
The Thule 58 inch load bars, # THLB58 and the Gutter foot pack, # TH300, are a fit for your 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited provided that it has a hardtop roof. Once installed this roof rack will have a crossbar spread of 48 inches between the bars.
The Slipstream, # TH887XT, will fit this roof rack system. But if you want the carrier that is the easiest to load a kayak on you would want the Hullavator, # TH897XT. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you. view full answer...
For your 2007 Ford E-Series van you could potentially use Thule gutter feet # TH387 for a 4 pack, Yakima gutter towers, # Y00101 for a 4 pack, or Rhino-Rack gutter feet, # RL150S10 for a 4 pack.
Please note that these feet are designed to work with specific roof rack crossbars. You might be able to make them work for your application though depending on how you go about designing it. view full answer...

These steel load bars attach to Thule roof-rack feet to create a sturdy, convenient roof-mounted rack. Durable plastic coating resists corrosion and provides cushion for your load. Accommodates accessories that clamp around bars.
The LB are very well built and sturdy. My set up with the bars, feet, and two sidearm bike holders is quite heavy. It is difficult to lift the whole thing off the top of my truck cap by myself. I would have considered the aero bars had I thought weight was going to be an issue. At least I think they are lighter. Overall very happy with my setup. Etrailer was excellent, great prices, quick and efficient service.
The roof rack I ordered for my husband was what he wanted for Christmas. He wanted to mount fishing pole holders on the crossbars so when he goes fishing with his buddies he does not have to stuff his poles inside his Jeep Rubicon. I really don't understand why he needed them, but this is what he wanted, the old saying of needing and wanting. He was mounting them yesterday to make sure they fit, he was so happy, now we will have to wait till we go up to our summer home in Utah to use them. I also ordered a pole holder from Cabella's which mounts on the bar, it looks real good.

This is my fourth set of Thule racks. I purchased a new car and had to change designs again. These racks are a must have for anyone who uses their vehicle for biking, water sports, snow sports, camping, transporting wood, etc. Also, I have been super impressed with e-trailer. If they carry something, I don't even consider purchasing it elsewhere. Their customer service is amazing, shipping is fast, and their prices are usually the best. Their install videos are helpful for their products too.

No one should need more than twenty minutes to assemble this roof rack. If you're good mechanically, it'll be less than ten minutes.
Excellent design, intuitive assembly -- it doesn't get much better than this.
Great work everyone. I got the package the next day and it was all together and packed professionally. You should be proud. Keep up the good work. If I ever need anything you will be the first ones I will call.

This product produces wind noise when travelling above 25 mph. The crossbars extend several inches beyond the outer edge of the car as if it were not taylor made for this car. In fact, the directions made specific reference to Ford and I specifically ordered this for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Very much disappointed with the product.
The square load bars are one of 2-3 components vehicle dependent required to complete an installation. 4 different lengths are offered, and the closest is recommended for each vehicle. If extension beyond the foot and roof are not desired there is also the Edge system for vehicles which eliminate at the attachment point. As for the noise, a fairing is offered as an accessory to help cut down on the wind noise.

Thanks for the info Mike. Fairings can be a great addition, especially with the Thule square bar systems. According to the Thule Fit Guide the 38 inch fairing is recommended for your 2014 Jeep Cherokee and that is # TH871XT Thule Fairing for Roof Racks - 38" Long $99.95. Additional fairings are available in the 52 inch length, # TH873XT Thule Fairing for Roof Racks - 52" Long $99.95, the 44 inch length, # TH872XT Thule Fairing for Roof Racks - 44" Long $99.95, the and the 32 inch length # TH870XT Thule Fairing for Roof Racks - 32" Long $99.95.

I am happy to receive the above product BUT....it should have been part of my original order. There is no way I could have ordered the feet and connectors to my vehicle without this attachment. NO WAY!!!! In the end I received all parts needed to install the roof rack on my truck and I am very happy to have them.....

Etrailer delivered my Thule bars, feet and gutter adapters promptly. Although I have not yet installed the hardware, it looks like it will work and fit my 86 4Runner. Customer service informed me every step of the purchase and delivery process. Oh yeah, and the set was $36.00 cheaper than Amazon!
Thank you very much.

The rack came earlier than expected and undamaged. It was just as described. Due to a surgery I just had I have be unable to put it on my Jeep, but the way everything has gone so far with etrailer and their customer service I expect I will have no problems and plan I doing more business in the future with them.

etrailer is fabulous! I ordered Thule roof rack kit for my honda. Their service is great. I was emailed after I placed my order with a link to track my delivery. Then the day it was dropped off at my house I was sent an email confirming it was just delivered. I wil order from them again.
The thule bars have proved to be an excellent choice for my SUP carrier. Also, the advice I received from the support staff was a big Help. Their product knowledge helped me make the right decision for my Subaru wagon. I highly recommend etrailer based upon price and service... Larry

Overall I am satisfied with the roof rack although I think it is overpriced. The instructions, if you want to call them that, are horrific. I had to just figure out how to piece the parts together by trial and error.
by: Lee C12/13/2012
I gave this rack to my husband for Christmas. He loves it. Easy to install and says "it's just what he wanted!"
Very sturdy and very easy to install. I can know save trunk space by placing items on the roof.
Product fits and woks. Etrailer provided great service. What more can you ask for.
Load bars used with the Thule 300 low foot pack.. Gets the job done!
