All right today on this 2012 Dodge Charger, we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Roof Rack System. We'll be using the Thule Square Load Bar, part number THLB58, part number TH480, the traverse flip pack and part number THKIT1604 Thule fit kit. Now we're going to start off our load bars already assembled according to instructions, so all we got to do is put them on the roof. We'll start with the front crossbar and open up the front doors and then place the bar onto the roof. To place the bar correctly, we'll measure from the edge of the windshield to the edge of the foot pack. I always go by the instructions, but on this particular test fit, we'll be using a measurement of eight and a quarter inches.
Once we're in a correct location, we'll go ahead and make sure the bars are even from left to right, then we can go ahead and begin tightening them down to the roof. While you're tightening them down, you want to make sure that the pad on the foot pack matches the contour of the roof. Each foot pack comes with a special tool to tighten the fit kit to the roof and when you're finished, it stores inside the foot pack. With our first bar installed, we can move on to the second load bar and basically we'll repeat the same process. However, we'll measure off the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar to place that bar in a correct spot.
This case, the measurement will be 29 inches. With our second load bar installed, that'll finish it for our test fit. And there you have it for the Thule Roof Rack System on a 2012 Dodge Charger.
