Today on this 2008 Honda Odyssey with factory raised side rails we will be installing a Rhino Rack roof rack part number SXB3. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together so we are ready to go ahead and mount them to our vehicle. We will take our front crossbar assembly and lay it in place on top of our side rails. When positioning the front crossbar we need to make sure that our overhang is even on both the drivers side and passenger side. Once we have done that we need to ensure that our new crossbar is running perpendicular to our factory side rails. To do this we are going to position the clamps right up against the seam between our side rail and our side rail foot mount on both sides. Next we are ready to tighten the system down. We will use the included allen wrench and tighten down the bolts inside the crossbars. We will move back and forth between from passenger side to driver side to make sure we tighten down the system evenly.
With our front bar assembly tightened down we are ready to position and tighten down the rear. We will also need to make sure that the rear bars runs parallel with the front bar. To do this measure from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. This measurement is called your crossbar spread. If the spread is even on both sides then we know that the back bar is parallel with the front. With our rear crossbar positioned we will repeat the same tightening procedure that we used for the front. The last thing we need to install are our locking endcaps. From the top of our factory side rail to the top of our new crossbar we have added about 1-3/4 inches. And that does it for the Rhino Rack roof rack on our 2008 Honda Odyssey with factory raised side rails.

This is a good solid rack that is easy to attach and remove once it is set up per the instructions. It only takes five minutes or less to clamp them on with the provided wrench and the locks hold the racks in place. My only knit is that it adds wind noise so I wouldn't leave it on unless I'm actually carrying my canoe. 56576

Very Nice and sturdy, color looks elegant, I liked that it has a rubber stripping on top makes it less like ly to slip through while on the highway, extra piece of mind. Only took me an hour to install everything including my hard top carrier, its a no brainer. It blends well with my roof racks. I thought of buying a factory made roof crossbars for my kia sedona, but after my third minivan, I realize i need to buy something generic that i can use on my next minivan or truck. I would definite recommend this product. 25848
