Today on this 2006 Kia Sedona with factory raised side rails we are going to be installing a Rhino roof rack part number SXB3. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together so now we are ready to mount them on our vehicle. First we will set our front crossbar assembly up on the side rails. Before we start tightening down we are going to check to make sure the crossbar is overhanging evenly on both sides. We also need to ensure that the crossbar is running perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. To check this we are going to measure from the front end of our side rail to the leading edge of our feet on our Rhino Rack roof rack. We will make sure it is the same on both sides so that we know the crossbar is perpendicular to the side rails. Once we have checked all of our measurements and ensured the crossbar is into position we can go ahead and tighten it down. We will take the included allen key and move back and forth from the passenger side to the driver side tightening down the roof rack systen evenly. This will help ensure that we do not lose our positioning and that we do not have too much tension on one side or the other. As we tighten the allen head bolt our rack base will clamp onto the side rails and it will also lock onto our crossbars. Once we have the front crossbar tightened down we are ready to move to the rear of the vehicle.
We will go ahead and lay our rear crossbar assembly over our side rails like we did up front. To position this bar we need to make sure that it is running parallel with the front crossbar assembly. To do that we will measure our crossbar spread from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. We will make sure this measurement is even on both sides. Becauase this roof rack system is designed to attach to our factory side rails there is no required crossbar spread. You might want to check with the instructions of whatever accessories you will be using to see if they have a required crossbar spread. Again we are going to use the same tightening procedure moving from one side of the vehicle to the other to tighten down the system evenly. With both of our crossbar assemblies tightened down the last step will be to install our locking endcaps. We will slide the endcap into position at the end of our crossbar and turn the lock to secure it in place. They help seal the end of the crossbar keeping moisture out and also keeping windnoise down and they also help to protect the allen head bolt on the inside. Without easy access to this allen head bolt it will be more difficult for a potential thief to loosen the clamp and remove your roof rack system. And that does it for our Rhino Rack roof rack on our 2006 Kia Sedona with factory raised side rails part number SXB3. This roof rack system is also available with silver crossbars.That is part number SXB3-SILV.

- I do have a solution to mount the Rola Roof Cargo Carrier # 59504 to your 2005 Pontiac Montana, but the item you selected, Rhino-Rack Crossbars, part # SXB3 will not work with the Rola Cargo Carrier.
I would recommend the Yakima Roof Rack , part # Y00408, Y00138, which will attach to the factory side rails on your 2005 Pontiac Montana.
The reason the Rhino-Rack crossbars will not work is because the Rola Cargo Carrier only works with crossbars up to 3-1/4 inches wide, the Rhino-Rack bars

- It sounds like your 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe has the flush rails and not raised rails that run front to back. If this is the case, the Rhino-Rack # SXB3 system will not fit. Instead, you would need to use the Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack with Aero Crossbars, # DA1375B, and Custom DK Clamps and Pads, # DK041.
The SXB3 kit that you referenced would be if the rails were raised so that there is a gap beneath them.

- I am not aware of any cargo basket that would directly attach to the flush-mounted cargo tracks on your Santa Fe.
The most economical option would be a Yakima Rack System that you could construct by using Yakima load bars part # Y00409, end caps part # Y8007026 and RailGrab Towers, part # Y00138. This system would provide a platform for the cargo basket.

- We do have a roof rack for the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen that has 56 inch bars. Take a look at the SportRack system, # A21009N. In addition to having the longest bars available out of the systems for your vehicle, it is also more economically priced.

- The X Cargo Thule Box is designed to be used on most factory and aftermarket cross bars. The u-bolt that comes with the X-cargo is 4 inches wide so it should fit around a wide variety of cross bars.

- The Rhino-Rack roof rack # SXB3 does fit the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen as long as it has factory side rails that run front to back. I do not recommend opening the panoramic sun roof as there could be interference. It may be possible to move the bars to places along the rails that will allow you to open it but you will need to determine that with the bars on the actual vehicle.
