5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit for a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Short Bed- You can install a 5th wheel trailer hitch in a 1/2 ton truck although the best trucks for 5th wheel towing are 3/4 and 1 tons. As long as the trailer is within the towing capacity of the truck (consult the truck owners manual) you will be fine.

- In regards to fifth-wheel hitches, there are a number of jaw types. A slide bar jaw is found on the less expensive hitches, such as the Pro Series # PS30129. This type of jaw is a secure one for your trailer but you will notice some king pin noise and some chucking as the fit is looser. Tow Daddy offers their kit #TD3002SK. This kit is a plug-in harness with single-block diode and brake light relay that installs without need for cutting or splicing wires by connecting to the HHR tail light wiring harness. - The additional bed support kit #V70790 is only required for 2003 to 2007 model Dodge Ram trucks, so it is not needed to install Valley gooseneck to fifth-wheel adapter # V70880 in your 2001 Ram.

- I checked with Valley and they list this Valley Hitch # V81620 as having 4,000 lb trailer weight capacity with a 400 lb tongue weight capacity without weight distribution, and with weight distribution 6,000 lb total trailer weight with a 600 lb tongue weight.

- There are several installation kits that you can use that will accept your Husky 5th wheel trailer hitch. Make sure that the tabs on the hitch where it mounts to the rails are approximately 22 inches apart on center front to back. Left to right the slots will need to be 10 inches apart on center, 20-1/2 inches apart on center, or 29 inches apart on center like in the picture I have included.

- Compatibility of Valley Class III Hitch on 2008 Toyota Highlander with Weight Distribution
- The hitch you referenced, # V82180 is actually for a Chrysler minivan.
We do not currently offer a Valley hitch for the 2008 Highlander, so I am not really sure which hitch you have. By checking their catalog, I see that they offer a # 81312 that has a 600 lb tongue weight/6000 lb towing capacity.
Your best bet would be to look at the identification sticker on your hitch. If the hitch is compatible with a weight distribution (W/D) system, the hitch will list TWO capacities, one for Weight

- Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with a Gooseneck Trailer Hitch in a 2004 Ford F-350
- One option is to replace the pin box on the trailer with a Goose Box like # RP94622. There are a few different Goose Boxes. To determine if one will fit your trailer you will need to look at the pin box to determine the pin box manufacturer and model number.
A second option is to use the Anderson adapter # AM3225. One end clamps around the gooseneck ball and the other end has an adapter from the 5th wheel king pin. I have included a link to a video review of this adpater for you.

- Since a fifth wheel hitch is not a vehicle specific item, you can certainly use the Husky slider from your older truck and install it in your new F250.

- For a 2008 Ford F-350 short bed the most economical gooseneck trailer hitch is the Blue Ox Diamond hitch # DH1203. This hitch will not fit models with the Power Stroke Diesel. - Valley does not have an install kit for the V69663 that would be compatible with your truck.
For your 2004 Silverado 2500HD, you would want to go with the # V69644 Stow-A-Ball hitch and the # V69854 install kit. The install kit includes all necessary hardware to complete your installation. Draw-Tite also offers the Invert-A-Ball Gooseneck Hitch, part # 9465-34, which is a bit less expensive.

- According to my contact at Valley Towing, the # V70550 you mention will not work with the 2012 Toyota Tundra. You would need to use the # V55151R.
Reese also makes a kit that would be compatible with a Valley 5th wheel hitch, part # RP30035-309.

- I spoke with my contact at Valley and the Valley Gooseneck-to-Fifth-Wheel Adapter Plate, # V70881, will not work with the Curt slider rails.
Instead, I would recommend using the Curt X5 Adapter Plate, # 16310. This adapter plate will work with your Curt fifth wheel hitch and slider rails and has a maximum weight capacity of 20,000 lbs. - Valley offers what they call a semi-custom install kit for your 1998 Dodge 2500, part # V55110R. A semi-custom kit will require some drilling, but not as much as a universal kit would.
Valley assures me that this kit would be compatible with your Husky 24K fifth wheel hitch.
The # V55093R kit you mentioned is for a GM truck, and would not work for your 1998 Ram.

- The relay, # V38937-1, is designed for Nissan vehicles that did not come with a factory tow package so it should work for your 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. Otherwise you would need to obtain this part from the dealer.
