Consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss warranty act that states in part that unless the part added actually causes a problem then installation and use of the part will not void the warranty. The system does have an input for the mass airflow sensor which should be the only sensor that was on the factory intake.

I did some research and everything I found says that the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS models are powered by a GEMA based 4B11 that is a 2.0 liter DOHC engine producing around 150 hp. If you have the stock engine in your vehicle then this Takeda Retain Direct-Fit Short-Ram Cold Air Intake System # AFETR-4201P should work very well for you. If you have an engine in your vehicle that is not the original I would not be able to recommend an intake for you since there would be too many variables.

I spoke with my contact at AFE and he said you can use dish soap or hand soap to wash the Takeda Pro Dry S Performance Air Filter, part # AFETF-9006D. He mentioned after washing that you should let the filter air-dry and not use compressed air to dry the filter. He also recommended a better option to clean the Pro-Dry filter is to use the Restoration Kit for AFE Pro Dry S Air Filter, part # AFETP-7015C.
