  • Should there be a Gap Between Top of Trailer Tongue and Coupler
  • Ideally you would want the coupler to sit flush on the tongue but I have seem them with gaps larger than the 1/8 inch one you are describing. What you could do is put a thin steel spacer in between the top of the tongue and the coupler to bridge the gap.

  • To save your back I would go with an electric winch. • Where Is Model Number Located On Trailer
  • Most trailers should have a sticker or a plate with model number and other information affixed to the frame near the front of the trailer, possibly on the underside. Many trailer manufacturers attach them in different areas so sometimes they are tough to locate. If you are unable to find the information you might be able to contact the manufacturer and they would be able to help.

  • Solution for Coupler Repair Kit that Allow Ball to Fall Out of Coupler After Installation
  • Sounds like you need to tighten the nut on the underside of the coupler that holds the latch kit in place. This nut is used to fine-tune the tightness of the clamp on the inside of the coupler to the ball. If the ball wants to fall out of the coupler then it is not tight enough. You want to tighten it enough that the ball is held in place, but not so tight that it can't move freely. Check out the video I attached that shows how to install and adjust a coupler repair kit.

  • How Many Digits are Used for the VIN on a Small Boat Trailer
  • From the information that I was able to gather, a trailer VIN will most likely consist of 17 characters. I have attached a picture which illustrates the breakdown. It sounds to me like you may have found the serial number for your boat trailer. I recommend checking for plates or markings on other parts of the trailer. The number may even be stamped into the underside of the frame.

  • Where Can VIN Be Found On Travel Trailer
  • Most trailers have a sticker or plate attached to the inside frame on the driver side of the trailer. It may also be located on the tongue. The VIN can also be found on the trailer title. If you do not have a title or the plate / sticker, you can contact your DMV to find out how you can have a new VIN assigned. I recommend having the VIN stamped on a plate so that you can affix it to the trailer for future licensing.

  • How to Find a Trailer VIN on a Camping Trailer
  • Usually commercial trailer manufacturers will indicate the unique vehicle identification number (VIN) on the same plaque that carries their brand name, model number information and the trailer specifications. The model number of the trailer is not the same as the VIN number; the same model number may be used on multiple trailers but a VIN number is unique and individual to each one produced. • Where on Trailer to Find VIN Information
  • If it's not located on the outside of the frame members that make up the trailer tongue, it might be on the inside of the frame members, so you might want to check there first. Then, examine the rest of the frame. I've also seen the information on the front of the trailer. If the trailer has a toolbox, propane bottles or other obstructions on the tongue, they might be covering the VIN plate.

  • Cable Recommendation for a Shelby 3,200 lbs Winch # 5481
  • With the Shelby 3,200 lbs winch # 5481 you will have to use a cable like the part # DL24100. Since this winch wasn't designed for use with a strap there is no way to attach one to it effectively. For a different 3,200 lb winch that uses a strap instead of the cable I would recommend the # FW32000101. Check out the review video I attached.

  • Interchangeable Hitch Ball Recommendation For 2001 Keystone Camplite Pop-Up Camper
  • You will want to make sure you have the correct hitch ball mounted for your 2001 Keystone Camper. even though a 1-7/8 inch ball will fit, it can become a major safety issue if the coupler is designed for a larger hitch ball. One big bump and the coupler could jump off the smaller ball. If you are unable to determine the ball size you have a couple of options. You will want to measure the hole on the ball mount that the hitch ball shank uses. I imagine it is 3/4 inch, but some ball mounts...

  • Can the Inner Leg of a Shelby Trailer Jack be Reinstalled After Taking Apart the Jack
  • Actually, you are going to need to replace the jack. What likely happened was the nut, screw or both inside have sustained thread damage and will not work right again. Many jacks have a screw with intentionally smashed threads at the end. This is to prevent the jack from over extending. If the good threads get to that damaged part then it damages the nut threads. This would also prevent it from installing correctly. I wish there was an easier way for you but the best and safest thing...

  • How To Get VIN For 8 X 20 Trailer

They may have you take the trailer to a highway patrol facility so it can be inspected and assigned a new VIN.

  • Is it Required that a Swivel Jack Be Fully Retracted Before Towing
  • Well since this jack can fold up for storage you would not need to fully retract it before you can tow. I have had trailers with similar jacks and found that I could just crank the jack up until the wheel comes off of the ground and then pull the pin in the jack and rotate it 90 degrees and be done with it. There's no reason you would have to fully retract this jack to use it. A 3 to 1 ratio might make for difficult cranking as well since you wouldn't have the same leverage over...
