  • Front Receiver Hitch for Snowplow on 1999 Ford Explorer
  • Curt offers the # C31051 front mounted hitch that's a fit for all models of the 1999 Ford Explorer, as long as it isn't a Sport Trac. The hitch has a 350 lb vertical pull capacity, which means the maximum amount of weight that can be hung from the receiver is 350 lbs. If the plow you're wanting to use weighs less than that, the hitch will work great for you. I don't know if you have your plow yet-if you don't, we offer a few that you might want to take a look at. The Snowsport # A40000HD...

  • Recommended Way to Secure the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40086 While Torqueing it Down
  • If you have access to a large vice I would wrap the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40086 in a thicker shop rag and then use the vice to really crank down tight on it to keep it from spinning while torqueing the nut.

  • Best Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • Since you want a strong hitch at a decent price I would recommend the Hidden Hitch part # 87568. This is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch opening that would have more capacity and accessory options than a hitch with a 1-1/4 inch opening. For more info on hitch classifications check out the link I attached. The hitch opening will be right underneath the bottom of the bumper which really wouldn't affect ground clearance by much. It also will be recessed up under the bumper so it would never...

  • Best Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 RAM 1500
  • The Curt Hitch part # C15572 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit your 2015 RAM 1500 so I would recommend it for you. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. For trailer wiring you would want the Curt Harness part # 56146KIT if you need a 4-way and don't have one. If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise...

  • Fifth Wheel Adapter for a Draw Tite Hide-A-Goose Gooseneck Hitch
  • I have a solution that could work well for you, but there isn't an adapter exactly like the # 16310 that would fit a Draw Tite turn over Hide-a-Goose. Instead I would recommend the Hi-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # 9480. This will fit in your gooseneck hitch easily and will provide you with a fifth wheel hitch. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Do the Cross Member Bolts of the Curt E16 Hitch Get Tightened to the Legs
  • I found the section under the installation instructions for the Curt E16 Hitch part # C16115 that you are referring to and it does say to only finger tighten the bolts that hold the crossmember to the legs of the hitch. So I called up my tech contact at Curt and he informed me that you will need to torque those bolts down and that the instructions are somewhat misleading since it only goes as far as finger tightening those bolts.

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2015 Ram 2500 W/ Factory Prep and Sidewinder Equipped 5th Wheel
  • If your 5th wheel has the Sidewinder, you don't need a sliding hitch. You can use a stationary hitch, and it'll work just fine, as the Sidewinder will give you all the clearance you need. If you DO for some reason decide to use a sliding hitch, it MUST be left slid all the way forward. Sliding the hitch rearward will concentrate the pin weight behind the rear axle, which can create a dangerous situation by lightening the load on the front axle which would lead to poor steering and braking...

  • Hitch Options On Flatbed Trailer For Gooseneck Trailer
  • In order to haul a 48 foot gooseneck trailer you will need a gooseneck hitch installed in either of the vehicles you mentioned. We do not offer a gooseneck option for flatbed trucks as it will require a custom hitch and installation to accommodate the gooseneck. You could use an adapter like part # 2085205 with the gooseneck on your trailer to work with a fifth-wheel hitch installed on the truck. The hitch I recommend is the Reese Low-Profile 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # RP30054....

  • 2 Inch Stainless Steel Hitch Ball And Bushing For Ball Mount With 1-1/4 Inch Ball Hole
  • We have exactly what you need for your ball mount. I recommend the Hitch Ball With Medium Shank, part # 63852 along with the Hitch Ball Bushing, part # 58184. this hitch ball has a capacity of 6,000 lbs. The bushing will slip inside the 1-1/4 inch hole on your ball mount and allow the 1 inch shank hitch ball to fit in your ball mount with no excess play. Using this bushing will not reduce the towing weight capacity or tongue weight capacity but you will be limited to the lowest...

  • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2007 Honda CR-V
  • I would recommend the Hidden Hitch part # 87440 for your 2007 Honda CR-V. This hitch has been confirmed to fit your vehicle and would do an excellent job to carry a 2 bike rack. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. The Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack # Y02443 would be a great choice for a bike rack as well. This is a platform bike rack that uses wheel mounts that has been reviewed well by our customers that would work great to carry 2 bikes on your vehicle.

  • Will the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17124 work w Pro Series Weight Distribution 49903
  • Yes, the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17124 that you referenced would be compatible with the # PS49903 weight distribution system and would work well to give you additional drop if needed. To determine the correct amount of drop you would need you need to measure from the bottom of the coupler to the ground with trailer sitting level and then from the top of the hitch opening. Whatever the difference is the amount of drop needed. I attached an FAQ on this for more info.

  • Will the Curt Wiring Harness for a 2013 Honda CR-V Void the Vehicle Warranty
  • If installed properly the Curt Wiring Harness part # C56158 that you referenced shouldn't cause any problems. Your best course of action would be to go back to the local installer you used and explain to them what happened as it sounds like the screwed something up. Consumers of aftermarket products are protected by the Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. You should bring this up with your Honda dealer if you decide to go back there with the problem you have. • The Curt trailer wiring harness # 55323 and the TowReady harness # 118323 that you referenced both use the same 3-pole connectors as those shown in your photo. These connectors fit the taillights on your Dakota. They also fit various other models of Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth and Mitsubishi. • Ball Mount for 3-1/2 Inch Drop Recommendation
  • The closest ball mount drop we carry to 3-1/2 inches of drop would be the Tow Ready Ball Mount part # 80228 that has a 4 inch drop. We don't have anything in exactly 3-1/2 inches of drop but this should be close enough. I also attached an FAQ on how to pick the correct rise/drop ball mount.

  • Does Reese Make the Ford Hitch Prep Fifth Wheel Rails
  • Reese Elite underbed rails and the Ford hitch prep packages are the exact same underbed rail systems. Reese makes the kits for Ford. For more info on this check out the link I attached to the right. The Curt leg kit part # C16017 that you referenced would install in either the Reese Elite or the Ford hitch prep package as long as everything was installed correctly. We have not heard of any issues where the Curt hitches designed for the Ford hitch prep didn't fit.

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2010 Honda Element
  • I believe I found the review online where a single customer said he had a problem installing the Curt Hitch part # 13574 on his 2010 Honda Element. I wish I knew more about the issue he was having, but I checked with Curt and they have said that as long as the 2010 Honda Element is not an SC model this hitch should work well and haven't heard of any issues beyond that. So based on that I can safely recommend this hitch for you. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. If...
