Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chevy Silverado - Video

Today we are going to be installing the Signature Series Fifth Wheel part number 30061. On a 2007 new body style Chevy Silverado pickup 2500. The first thing we need to do is lower the spare tire to gain access to the under body. Next we will need to remove the heat shield or else it will be in the way during our installation. After we remove the heat shield we want to go ahead and put the rear cross member into place. As you can clearly see that we have already put the cross member in. It will be easier if you loosen or remove the bed bolts. There are 4 middle ones that if you take them out or loosen they will allow you extra room when putting the cross member back into position. Then go ahead and install the front and rear channel. You can see we have both cross members into position now. The next step will be to mount the side brackets on the side of the frame.

Westin Molded Lighted Step Board Demonstration - Video

Today we are going to show you part number 27-0025 which is a lighted running board from Westin. Aside from the obvious features this 93 inch long running board is made of treated aluminum with a black molded finish. The step pads are made of a molded polymer that are UV resistant material which insures that it will not crack or fade over time in the sun. Of course the main features are the lights at either end of the board. It makes looking at the steps at night a little easier. It is also a wide base to ensure good footing. This is also a no drill application with a 5 year warranty. There you have it for part number 27-0025 the lighted running boards from Westin.

Brake Controller Installation - 2004 GMC Envoy - Video

Today we are going to install part number 90185 from Tekonsha. We are installing a Prodigy brake controller on a 2004 GMC Envoy. The first step here on the Envoy is locating the tow package. Which is located underneath the dashboard behind this plastic facing here. There are also 2 screws you must remove. One to the left and one of them to the right that hold that into place. So we are going to go ahead and remove those and pull this down. Then we will locate the wires that will be right up in here somewhere. The panel just pulls away but also be sure not to pull to hard because there is the diagnostic and Aux port over here that we do not want to pull any wires out of.

Today we are going to show you part number TH835PRO from Thule. What we have here is our Hull-A-Port Pro Folding J Rooftop Kayak Carrier. So what this does is help you carry your Kayak on your Thule load bars or factory load bars on your vehicle. What you see is only half the kit we already have the other half assembled and installed on our vehicle. The furthest right we have the cradle it self that holds the Kayak. These here are the clamps that clamp it to the load bars. Next we have tie up straps to load the Kayak to the cradle. We also have 2 sets of bolts here depending on what kind of load bar you have. This first set is for Thule load bars and the 2nd set is for factory load bars. It also comes complete with tie down straps to keep your Kayak pointing straight with your vehicle when your going down the road.

Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Nissan Murano - Video

Today we are going to show you the installation of part number 55571 from Curt. We are going to install this on a 2005 Nissan Murano. For this install what we need to do is open up the back hatch and remove some inner panels. Both of the covers on the left and right come off. These compartments will also come out. Now to remove the threshold what you want to do is remove this little panel underneath the hook. There are also 3 plastic releases in the back along with these 3 rivets in the back. Take those out and this whole panel will unsnap and come apart. We need to take this cover off so what we do is work it a little loosely and the pop this handle out and you can pull the whole thing out pretty easily. Then go ahead and pop those pins out of the side paneling so you can pull it off. Now you can see where the harness and the tail light connect.

Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Chevy HHR - Video

Today we are going to install part number 118407 on our 2007 Chevy HHR. This install has everything kept on the inside of the vehicle. So we will open up the hatch and remove a few panels to get to it. The wiring cables we need to get to are behind this panel and also on the passenger side as well. We will also remove this carpet and paneling so that we can run the wires left and right. Also we must get to the spare tire cover. Then this panel that covers up the threshold you can simply pop off this panel and there is an identical one on the other side. Connecting the driver side first we will run the wires underneath the sheet metal and plastic. Pulling it up through the hole left by the paneling here. Then we can disconnect the wiring from the tail light and this T-Connector can fit. Then this end goes back onto the light socket. Then at the bottom here there is a ground stud we can use to attach our wire. Then we will take the other half of the harness and run it across the preexisting wiring harness and over past the battery. We will run the harness up and connect it to the tail light.

<itunes:summary>Today we are going to install part number 118407 on our 2007 Chevy HHR. We will run the harness up and connect it to the tail light.</itunes:summary>

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chevy HHR - Video

Today we are going to do an install for part number 60815 from Hidden Hitch. On a 2007 Chevy HHR. This also applies too part number 24756. To install the hitch we need to some bolts inside here. Then also this hole needs to be drilled out to accommodate these fasteners. It will be the same for the other side but I believe on an HHR you are going to have to drill on the driver side. Go ahead and lower the exhaust to get it out of the way. There are 3 rubber hangers. One is in front and another on the opposite side and one near the back almost hidden. All 3 of them come out so that you can lower the exhaust giving you more space. The rear most hole is the one you have to drill out kind of like an oval instead of round. We are going to pull our bolts into the frame and out the bolt hole. Whats going to happen is this bolt leader is going to get threaded into the original hole and install our hardware on the leader and pull it back through. It goes in the left side and comes out the right.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2005 Nissan Murano - Video

Today we are going to install part number 90073 on our 2005 Nissan Murano. The first thing we are going to do is loosen the exhaust. What we need to do is the lower the exhaust in front of the muffler. Bring it down an inch or so. You can also put a strap around it to hold it in place and maybe lower a little further if you need to. We will start by taking down this bracket here. Next we move on to the exhaust hangers this is where it is good to invest in a ratchet wrench. It makes things a lot easier. Now this bracket must come off and stay off by taking out the 2 bolts up in front and 2 on the backside. Then these rubber hangers have to come off so we can lower everything down. How we do that is spray them down with some WD40 which will make it a little easier to pry them off.

GearCage Extra Large Cargo Carrier with Ramp Demonstration - Video

Today we are going to show you part number 5800200 from Highland. This is part of the Lets Go Aero product line. What we have here is a nice heavy cargo carrier. It does come in kit form and it does require some assembly. It is not too bad it comes with clear and easy to understand directions. This unit only fits on 2 inch receiver hitches. We will show you the actual measurements from the inside of the cargo carrier. The inside width of the cargo carrier is 32 inches and the inside length is 48 inches. One of the nice features is it has a built in anti rail feature which is similar to what you see on high end bike racks. Another nice thing is it has 2 different holes to give you clearance for different types of bumper and hitch combinations. We will go ahead and install our bolt pin which simply goes in and threads into place.

Today we are going to install part number 75082 which is Draw-Tite Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch. We will be installing it on a 2007 Ford Ranger XLT. After lowering the spare tire underneath the vehicle here, on the driver side and passenger side we want to remove the rear most bolt on both sides. After removing both rear most bolts we need to remove the retaining clip that holds the threads out of the frame rail here. You actually pry this piece away from the frame rail. Because it is actually clipped around it. To give a little more clearance we are going to loosen this bolt on both sides. That should give you enough room here to pop the clip out of the frame. Now that the clip is removed from the frame we will go ahead and tighten these bolts back up. Now we will the hardware down from the top of the frame down into the holes in the frame.

Trailer Brakes and Wiring Installation - Video

Today we are going to show you how to install brakes on a trailer that does not have existing brakes. It is actually pretty easy to do it is just very time consuming. There are a few things you want to look out for before you start. One of those things is look being the existing hub you have. Make sure you have a flange like this on the axle. It is this 4 bolt flange on here if you have that on your axle your pretty much home free. You will see it on 3,500 pound axles like we have here. You also see it on 2,000 pound axles. On a 3,500 pound one you would probably use a 10 inch drum and on a lighter 2000 pounds, you would use a 7 inch size. Also you notice we have the hub missing. We have to take that off because the hub and drum assembly it is all in one piece. You have to take off the old hub get rid of it and start off fresh.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1998 Toyota Tacoma - Video

Today we are installing hitch number V81590 on a 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup. Step one is to remove the bolts that are holding the arm on the frame here. This will allow us easier access up into the frame. For the hitch installation we will have to remove the bumper brackets from the vehicle. That will require us to remove these 2 bolts here. Then there are 2 more that are attaching the bumper brackets. In the instructions they say to remove these 2 bolts and loosen the other two that are attaching the bumper. We are going to just go ahead and remove those bolts it makes it just a little easier to get the hitch brackets into place. When removing the bumper make sure you disconnect the license plate lights otherwise you will rip the wires out.

<itunes:subtitle>Today we are installing hitch number V81590 on a 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2004 Cadillac CTS - Video

Today we are installing part number 60830 which is a Hidden Hitch Class I Trailer Hitch. We are installing it on a 2004 Cadillac CTS. This also applies for Draw Tites part number 24767. First up you have to open up the back trunk to find where you way to get to the floor. This has to come out and this carpet has to come out also. Then this plastic panel should come out next. Then what we do is drag the rubber hangers off the exhaust so we can lower it and have some more room to work. We got our exhaust lowered and pulled out of the way. We had to pull it sideways so that we had to tie down and pull them to the sides. Now we hold our hitch up into place then mark the hitch with white paint so can drill our holes. This would be a very good time for a second pair of hands to help you hold up the hitch while the other marks the holes.

Trailer Tailgate Lift by Rackem - Video

First thing we need to do is take the lift assist apparatus and set it on the drivers side railing. Put it as close to the tailgate as possible without interfering with the pins. As you can see we have placed the apparatus on the rail, where there is enough clearance where the pin wont interfere with it, now we want to center it on the railing and mark the holes where were going to drill for the mounting bolts. With the holes marked, we are going to remove the apparatus and drill the holes using a half inch drill bit. Now that we have the holes drilled, we are going to put the lift apparatus back on the rail and the half inch mounting bolts. Now we are going to tighten them down at this time. We have the lift unit installed on the rail here and now we want to put the bracket onto the tailgate.

Wiring Harness Installation on a 2008 Toyota Sienna - Video

Today we are going to install part number 118304 from Tow Ready. On a 2008 on a Toyota Sienna Mini Van. The first thing we are going to do is remove the tail lights. We will start on the passenger side then work our way over to the driver side. To remove the tail light we have to push down on this pin and pull the connector out. We will go ahead and do the same thing for the other side. The next thing we need to do is to remove this trim panel here. There are 3 of these latches we have to remove all the way across from left to right. Once we have those 3 latches removed we can now take off this back part of trim panel. You have to pry it out and lift it up at the same time and it will come loose. Now at this point we need to pull this panel away.

Wiring Harness Installation on a 1998 GMC Jimmy - Video

We are going to go ahead and install part number 18002. Which is the Draw Tight 4 pole flat onto this 1998 GMC Jimmy. Right now we are underneath the vehicle. We have already put the hitch on here. As far as the wiring goes about 90 of the Chevy Blazers and GMC Jimmys have the tow package on them. It is that bundle of wires that attached to the backside of the bumper with zip tie. Those are all the wires we are going to need to attach the 4 pole too. So what we are going to do is go ahead and clip the zip tie here. Then release these wires and as you can see they give you a substantial amount of lead. Again the 4 pole flat connector we will be using is made by Draw Tight and is part number 18002.

Today we are installing hitch number 70626 on a 1998 GMC Jimmy. This hitch will also work with a Chevy Blazer also. The attaching points for this hitch are going to be on the side of the frame here. We are going to remove both of these bolts then we are going to use this existing hole also. To gain easier access to both of these bolts we are going to take down this bolt. Which that bolt is your fender support that will allow us more room to get inside there. We are going to do this for both sides. We are going to remove the bolt here on the side of the frame. You can see as of right now with the stabilizer bar in place we can not access these bolts very well. Since we removed this bolt here we can actually bend the bar up and out of the way. So we can gain access to the bolts.

Today we are going to show you an install on part number 65050. This is a front mount hitch and we are installing it on 07 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD. To begin our install we have to remove our licenses plate holder which is the square object in the center there. That has to come off and whats next is we have to cut a hole in the bumper so that the receiver can poke through. The plate is riveted on so we will have to drill out these rivets and just pop them off. What seems to work is grab the backside of the rivet with a pair of pliers and drill out the front and it comes right apart. Our next step is to start measuring so we can knock out our hole in the bumper. We are going to start with a common measurement. Basically we are going to start from this bolt right here.

Demonstration of Trailer Hub Inspection - Video

We get many many questions on how to make sure trailer hubs and brakes are safe for travel. Here Joe addresses some of those questions demonstrating how to thoroughly inspect the hubs, breaks and bearings. I know many of us take the performance of these assemblies for granted but if you are planning a long trip or just make short trips around town you should be aware of their condition. I like to say it is time well spent when it avoids break downs on the side of the highway.

Love the convenience of bungee cords but need something a bit stronger? We have the answer! Well, actually Master Lock has the answer in their EZGrip Bungee Cords. I am sure most of you know how to use a bungee cord but we have a video using the EZGrip bungee to illustrate Master Locks superior design. As Joe points out in the video you can never have too many of these around, they are great for cargo carriers, bike racks, roof top cargo, anything and everything you need to haul.

7-Way Pre-Wired Car Connector 7 Foot Lead Installation Demonstration - Video

When pulling a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer it is convenient to be able to plug the trailers electrical connector right into the bed of the truck. This is safer for the wiring and easier for you as you will not have to spend time securing the wiring along the trailer and then back down to the bumper. Most trucks have factory installed tow packages and custom wiring which can be quickly added and installed in the truck bed. Here Chris has a video showing us what he had to do to set up a 1998 Chevy truck, you will be surprised at how fast it can be done.

Trailer Hitch Installation on a 2008 Saturn Outlook - Video

The Saturn Outlook has a lot of room but if you need more storage space for a trip or want to tow your boat you will love how easy they made it to install a receiver hitch. The custom trailer hitches can be installed without any drilling and bolt up in minutes. The exhaust will need to be temporarily lowered but our video will show you exactly what to do. Once the hitch has been installed and the exhaust placed back into position you will be ready for a cargo carrier, bike rack or to tow a trailer.
