This hub-and-drum assembly fits 3,500-lb axles. Inner bearing (L68149) and race, outer bearing (L44649) and race, grease seal, grease cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts included.The brake parts were all correct for my application and installation was straightforward with minimal tools needed. I did take the extra step of soldering the wire connections because that is the best way to do it IMO.
Stephen at etrailer was very helpful. He made sure I had all the right parts for my application. and they were on their way very quickly.
I will say that I tried to use my local dealer first because I like to support local businesses, but unfortunately, they were having trouble finding the right parts for my trailer. When we did find them, they were 50% more expensive for the exact same parts that etrailer supplied. I would also have had to drive 80 miles round trip to get them.
The reason for the 4-star rating is because of shipping/packing. The parts were heavy in large boxes with no packing material to hold them in place. Two of the hub sets were out of their boxes and there was a crushed grease cap. So, better packing to keep things in place in the boxes or use a smaller box would be nice.
I attached a few pics of before and after also tmy very worn hubs. You can see that eh armature is worn down to the studs and the magnets are starting to show the coils. It was time. Also a short video or timelapse that I titled, Trailer Brakes in 18 seconds
I was a bit intimidated by the thought of taking apart my hubs and had no idea where to start. But the etrailer live chat gave me a complete parts list based on my trailer GVWR, I watched a couple of videos on the website, and then spent about 1.5 hours on the job (honestly, at least 45 mins was me figuring out where I wanted to run the wire and strapping it in, then stopping to drink a beer and admire my work, with the actual hub work taking less than 20 mins apiece).
I was able to install the new whip, box, and run power to the hubs in about an hour afterwards. I then got in the truck, toggled to my trailer braking control, set my sensitivity, and went for a test drive. Works flawlessly!
Bought new Dexter brakes and drums to replace the original brakes on my 1995 Haulmark car trailer. The original drums and magnets were badly worn, and I wanted to replace them before going to the car cruise in Ocean City. I received an email from etrailer.com within hours of placing the order, stating that the order has shipped! The absolute best customer service I ever had. The Dexter parts are working great so far! Although I only used the trailer twice for about 450 miles total. Ive always had good service from etrailer. Thank you for the follow up, I appreciate it.
Got this with a 10 inch trailer brake. Everything was as expected. I had to buy a couple nylock nuts from Menards. They are 7/16 by 40 pitch. Which is a fine thread.

Easy installation, quality parts.
During shipment the box was busted open and one of the 4 hub/drums came out. So the box arrived taped up and 1 hub short to complete the job.
I called the contact number, great customer service. They are currently rushing me the missing hub. Thanks!

The brakes from etrailer were of excellent quality. They installed easily, and no adjustments were needed for the installation. After bleading the system, the brakes worked fine. I will definitely recommend etrailer to my friends and relatives needing trailer parts and accessories.

Everything is still working as planned. The change out for the installation of trailer brakes is as planned. I specified these parts for the brakes but also so I could add a hand brake lever when the trailer is parked. I didnt want the possibility of it rolling. Additionally, this allowed me to drill a hole through the hand brake lever to lock it against theft. The entire parts and planning worked.
Customer service was excellent, fast shipping and perfect replacement parts.
Who doesn’t love a 20 minute hub change with bearings and grease?? I sure do and replaced all my hub bearing assemblies with these. It took about an hour and I was back on the road. I drove our TT about 150 miles over the weekend and it did great! Thanks to the staff at ETrailer for going above and beyond with the sale as well!
The Dexter brakes and hubs are great - a bit pricey but far and above the no-name brands. There was one problem with the order (well 2 actually), they only shipped one brake in the package so there go my plans for installing the new hubs and brakes this weekend. This was an order for left-and-right brakes and two hubs. Mistakes happen so I'm not real upset about it. I'll update this review when I see how customer service handles this.
The second problem is the packaging. Nothing was damaged, which surprises me, but the two Drums and one brake were in their own boxes inside a bigger (huge) box with no peanuts or anything to keep them from flopping around. I lifted the box up on end so I could pick it up to carry it back to my work shed. When I did, it almost rolled out of my hands because the contents shifted so violently. When I got back there and opened the big box, the three smaller boxes were piled atop each other at one end.
FORTUNATLEY, they made it through the carrier's system, of which I am very familiar since I worked there for years. I was shocked they did. Better care when packing into larger boxes would go a long way.
Five stars for the products. Three (average) for the care in shipping the order.
Everything worked out well and are good replacements for existing drums. My only issue was the nuts and washers were too large for my spindle. Luckily my existing nut and washer were in good condition and could be reused.
installed brakes on my 97 Rogue boat trailer. E-Trailer had everything I needed for the job. Trailer already had the 4-hole mounting plate for the backing plate. It was all bolt on, brakes work great. I have bought quite a few items from them over the past few years, including an axle assy with brakes for another boat trailer, 2 brake controllers and also a trailer hitch for our older Lexus suv. I am very satisfied with there service and quality of there merchandise.

We have been going camping out West snd Southwest for five years now. Pulling 2003 Jayco 12 Sd popup behind 2006 Chevrolet Express 2500. A lot of mountains. Big Mountains. I noticed that the hydraulic brakes on the camper didn't work properly. I have tried to adjust them multiple times but it didn't help. I decided to replace them with electric brakes . It looked like etrailer had exactly what I needed. I ordered the electric brakes assembly first and then hub and drum assembly. Had to take some measures for the brake plate mounting and also get part numbers of the old bearings in the hub. All parts arrived two days after order was placed. Amazing. All the parts were there. . I am not the greatest mechanic but I was able to install them fairly quickly. Installation videos on etrailer website and YouTube were very helpful. We just went on our first camping trip this year. Only two hours drive. It seems that everything works fine I can feel that new brakes actually work. Thanks to Nicole at etrailer for helping me with this order.
I destroyed a hub/drum when i lost a bearing. I was able to clean up the spindle just enough for it to be salvageable and I put this new hub assembly on. So far, so good!
Really detailed helpful videos made installation a snap. I put brakes on a trailer that didn’t have them.
A word of caution. Unlike the brake kit, the drum kit only does one wheel. So if you order a brake kit and a drum kit you don’t have enough to do two wheels.
I purchased a used cargo trailer. We used it in October to go to Colorado on a hunt. We had a horrible time with the brakes failing. I tore it down this Spring and found there were no brakes on the front axle. I started checking around locally and could not find the parts I needed. I found etrailer online and took a chance and ordered(something Idon’t do shop online)the parts I was sure I needed. The parts arrived Tuesday and I installed them today. Everything was just as advertised and the fit was exact. Now I just need to get two new tires and wheels and the trailer will be ready for our trip to Colorado this year. Thanks E-Trailer.

I was impressed with these hubs (they cost a little more) heads and shoulders above some hubs I bought on Amazon and returned. Made in America was evident not only because its stamped on the drum but also by the quality. My recommendation if you have Dexter axles by Dexter drums

Great Price on a new brake drum for my Casita. Included everything - bearings, seals, dust cap, retainer, axle nut and lug nuts. Did not include the washer, but that's no big deal (I have a few extra!). Arrived much faster than expected, too. Got my Casita back on the road after a bearing failure that scored the inside of the hub. Great price and good service from etrailer! I must also mention that etrailer has so much good INFORMATION and tutorials as well. There might be other online sites that have it for a penny cheaper, but they don't have the information you need to get the job done right. Thanks again etrailer!

The drum/hub comes with everything needed including two types of bearing caps. One with a rubber plug and a standard metal cap, this helps if you have a grease fitting on your axle. Especially love the packaging eTrailer uses, product arrived without any damage. Thanks eTrailer!
Put new brakes, drums, bearings and seals and hubs on boat trailer found all parts here and received really fast always order parts for trailers here and always will
Everything arrived in good shape. Haven't installed do to weather. Was missing one plastic wire fastener on one of the breaks. On rechecking the web page I see that the nuts to secure the break to the trailer were to be purchased separately, had I noticed that I would have included it with my order. No problem was able to purchase 8 nuts and washers for $2.00 at a local nut and bolt dealer. Appreciate your help with my purchase and will deal with you when I need more items for my utility trailers or camping trailer.

Inner bearing (L68149) and race, outer bearing (L44649) and race, grease seal, grease cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts included.I wasn't replacing hubs but rather installing them on new axles (Timbren Axle-less system also purchased here). It was convenient to get the hubs here as I was also purchasing the Timbren system so I knew the setup would work together.
Being a novice at working on trailers, these hubs installed without a problem using the instructions provided. I had read several articles on problems with new hubs and the key comments I heard echoed was to be generous with greasing the bearings. It's been a year and I only have about 500 miles on the hubs but everything still sounds good.
I use the trailer for pulling my motorcycle so the load has been roughly 1200 pounds. The tires are ST145-R12 trailer tires.

The hubs are still sound after a year of occasional use. The configuration has worked well for me and still pleased with the results of the products Im using.
Kit came with everything. Perfect fit. No issues or problems noted during the past year. Last November towed my 3500 lb boat/trailer package from Savannah GA to Port Charlotte FL and return at speeds up to 65 mph in addition to all the local miles racked up during the year -- all with no issues or problems.

So far so good ! Ive towed my boat wtrailer from Savannah to Port Charlotte Florida and return and many local trips with no incident.
Delivered what I ordered as promised. Very easy to install. I did watch the tutorial video before starting was easy to comprehend.
etrailer was quick to respond to questions with relevant and knowledgeable information. I would not hesitate to order from here again.

Purchased to replace a similar hub that would not hold the grease cap. This is working as expected after 4000 miles of use. Pleased with the results!
Overall, I am quite pleased with my experience with buying from etrailer. The website is very detailed and helpful. The response to my questions took only a few minutes and was very helpful in placing my order. The parts arrived in only 3 days. Minor downsides was that one cotter pin was missing from an axle, one hubcap was bent rather oval and will take some reshaping to make it work, and one grease seal was slightly bent. Additionally, the axles I ordered were described as having 4 inch stubs, but only have 3 1/2 inch stubs, so I will need to weld on and extension to make them fit my needs. Overall though, I am pleased with the service. Nothing goes really perfectly these days with online shopping. I will be ordering more items from etrailer sometime today, and will hope that my minor issues will cause them to improve their service a little more.

So I finally found etrailer they answered the phone I had all my measurements they took the time to search out what I was asking for . Unlike other 3500 lb idler hub, this one does not come pre assembled. Glad I had bought the grease as well! Easy to install thanks to excellent videos.
These have held up for 30k miles so far and still perform like new. Serviced in 10k increments. Overlanding trailer weighs 1360 lbs empty 2k fully loaded.

Quick shipping. The pieces appear to be of good quality. The welds looked solid. I haven’t put it on yet but it appears to be a straight forward installation. It’s going on a single axle trailer.

These hubs are still working great. No issues. Would definitely buy again. I only go to etrailer.com for trailer parts.
After a slight bit of technical confusing on my part the customer service staff set me straight and I was able to get the correct hubs for my application.
I had a broken hub on a 21' pontoon trailer, so I went ahead and replaced both hubs on a #84 spindle with these. They appear to be good quality but I have yet to see how they perform on the road. They assembled and were mounted easily. The only issue I had was one of the grease seals was slightly bent and I had to bend it back into shape, otherwise no problem. One other thing, I don't believe you will be able to beat the speed of shipping from etrailer, and that's a very big deal with me. I will definitely use these folks again.

I just recieved mine, and the grease seals were also bent, I also had a lug stud that was buggered up pretty good on the end. I had to get the trailer back into service so itll be another day of knocking out the stud and putting in a new one. In general, looks to be good quality but I wish theyd pack the items better to avoid this type of problem.

Customer Service helped me determine the best hub for my trailer - very knowledgeable folks at etrailer !!!
The parts were received VERY quickly - etrailer always does great with order fulfillment - and were of high quality. The hubs, bearings and hardware were all "correct" and installed easily on my Load-Rite boat trailer. One EZ-LUBE dust cap was received with minor damage (bent). I straightened it to allow immediate installation, and etrailer quickly responded to my request for a replacement - it arrived within days and didn't affect my overall project. But please note that a lot of reviews for hubs will mention damaged components (grease seals being most common) and so I'd recommend waiting for the parts to arrive BEFORE starting a hub rebuild... just in case you get a damaged part, too. And if you do - know that etrailer will stand behind their product and get you a replacement very quickly.
Also, if you have EZ-LUBE hubs like me - remember that you need to spin the hub while pumping in the new grease. Otherwise it just blocks up and will not fill the hub and bearing properly.

I have attached some pics of my application. the spindle was used for an old military trailer, the steering axel is different, as it is not a typical steer axle and is able to rotate 360 degrees. it pivots on a axel spindle and it was sheared off at the base just above the seal area.
so i had to cut it out and do a re-install with your replacement and it was a perfect match.

The hub assembly came a little later then I would have liked.BUT it was not e-trailers fault. It was covid-19's and China's fault. They are working great, went right on the spindles, no problem. Really have found a great place to buy parts. Keep up the good work.
