- There is one major difference between the 2 carriers. The Surco cargo carrier # 52018F is a folding carrier. It can fold up vertically when not in use provided there is clearance between the rear of the vehicle and the carrier. On this carrier, it will fit when folded if the distance between the center of the hitch pin hole on the vehicle and the rear of the vehicle is less than 5 inches.
