I've got a 2002 Land Rover Discovery with a 2" hitch. I'd already purchased a nonrefundable rear hitch Yakima bicycle rack, but I noticed that the horizontal extender was about 1" too short due to the door-mounted spare tire. The first consideration in determining the correct weight distribution system is the tongue weight of your fully loaded trailer. You should also consider the gross towing weight of your fully loaded trailer. These weight distribution systems are intended for use with agricultural, marine, or heavy recreational trailers, these systems will only work with 2 1/2" receivers. Typical tongue weight of up to 1,700 lbs. and gross towing weight of 14,000 - 17,000 lbs.
