Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner

Hey, everybody, I'm Bobby. And today at etrailer.com, we're taking a look at our Yakima OffGrid Cargo Basket on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. The thing to keep in mind with the 4Runner here, as you can see, these raised rails are actually pretty backset on the vehicle, The thing to keep in mind, especially you're adding that extension onto the cargo room roof rack as well, is that this door does swing up a little bit here, so be mindful of the space. If I do a quick measurement here, looks like about 17 inches or so to the back of that cargo basket. That can get a little troublesome especially you add any long items, so just keep that in mind. And right away, as you can see here, this cargo basket is gonna give us a lot of room.

It's pretty big, so if you have a bigger vehicle like the 4Runner, it's gonna be a great option for you. But if you do have a smaller car, we put it on a RAV4 and it looked a little out of place because it was massive compared to a smaller compact SUV. We also have a 16 cubic foot one available as well. Lets Go Aero GearDeck Enclosed Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner

Howdy everyone, John here. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is gonna be a great choice if you need a little extra room for any of your stuff on a trip and you don't want to put it inside your vehicle itself. Now my friends and I are planning on going to Colorado during summer and we're going to be doing some car camping, so the inside of our vehicle isn't going to be able to be used for any type of cargo because we'll be sleeping there. Now the 4Runner does have raised rails but unfortunately it's a little bit finicky whenever it comes to how much roof clearance you have along with other problems. So this is going to be a 16 cubic foot rooftop box that's kind of a middle of the road size great for some sedans and SUVs and it's going to be a really versatile one too. When it comes to rooftop boxes they're great for a number of things whether you go for the ski and snowboard side of things or camping gear, luggage, that sort of thing. And depending on the shape of the box they might lend themselves better to those activities.

Now a roof box is gonna be a great way to get some extra stuff with you on your trip so you don't have to carry it in your vehicle. In particular, this kind of roof box where it's a bit lower and longer is gonna lend itself pretty well to things like skis and snowboards. I will say this one's quite a bit shorter than most other rooftop boxes I've worked with and maybe not as long.

Flint Hill Goods Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at this Flint Hill Goods Compact Cargo Carrier. This is a hitch mounted cargo carrier that'll fit in our two inch by two inch receiver tube and it's gonna be on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now a cargo carrier's really nice because if you don't have enough room in your vehicle for the stuff you're carrying, you can put it outside and get that extra room, or you can get some messy stuff from the inside and get it outside so you don't get that mess in your vehicle. For me, it's really nice for going to the hardware store picking up bags of concrete mulch, topsoil, anything that has a tendency to rip and just make a mess in the vehicle, out here, it's gonna be a lot easier to clean up because you can just hose it off.

And when this is dirty, you can just hose it off and you're good to go. It is made out of the aluminum, which makes it very lightweight and easy to handle.

Flint Hill Goods Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner

Flint Hill Goods Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods Hitch-Mounted Cargo Carrier on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. A hitch-mounted cargo carrier is a great way to either get extra stuff packed in your vehicle by packing it outside the vehicle or just getting some of that stuff from the inside that we maybe don't want in there, whether it be bags of concrete or soil, anything messy you might get at the hardware store, messy sports equipment that you wanna keep outside, so it doesn't stink up or mess up the inside of your vehicle, you can keep it out here, because let's face it, it's a lot easier to just hose this down with some water and get it cleaned up than it is to clean up the interior of your vehicle. With this, it is an aluminum cargo carrier, which means it's very lightweight. If you wanna see more about handling it and how easily it is to put it in the hitch, you can check out our full review. But with it, it's going to only be 29 pounds, so it's very easy to handle.

Inno Wedge Plus Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Inno Wedge Plus Rooftop Box on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now a rooftop box is a great way to get some extra cargo space in your vehicle, whether you're trying to get some luggage or some bags out of the car and up into the box, make more leg room or you just want to take more stuff with you. A rooftop box is a great way to get that stuff up there and keep it covered and secure compared to something like a basket that's open. Let's check it out.

Rhino-Rack MasterFit Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner

Today, we'll be taking a look at our Rhino-Rack Rooftop Cargo Box, this is the MasterFit, that's 18 1/2 cubic feet, and we'll see how it fits on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. So you have your 4Runner and you're ready for adventure, but what if you need to carry around your other sports equipment, maybe you have extra long skis or snowboards or other gear that you would rather not have to store inside your vehicle That's where the MasterFit can come in handy. So compared to some of your other boxes, this is gonna be more sleek, more low-profile, more aerodynamic, but then, you also don't have as much height for your cargo capacity. Another thing with this is when you have your extra large boxes, you'll be concerned about hatch clearance, this one just barely makes the cut, but it works. So yes, I know with your 4Runner if you need to access your hatch, you can just lower the hatch window, but what if you need to open up the hatch door So with this box isolated as far forward as it can go on the track system, the crossbars are as far forward on the raised rails as they can get, and lifting this hatch, you can see it goes all the way up, and then at the very top, it just barely touches the box, but there's no weight on it. And if you're concerned about garage clearance, measuring from the top of our roof to the top of the roof box, it is gonna add 21 1/2 inches to the top.

If you're going on a big trip and you wanna carry around your extra gear like your skis, your snowboards, your camera equipment, you can put them in here but you still have space on the other side for your other cool accessories like your kayak or your bike rack. So, we'll talk about those different features.

Thule Roof Box Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box. The Thule Force XT is a very premium style rooftop cargo box and it is gonna be a very good looking one as well. We're gonna have the black arrow skin which has a nice little texture to it. I like that compared to the glossy just because it doesn't scratch up as easy but this is gonna be a great storage solution for all of the seasons. And this is the biggest box that we carry. The Thule roof box is gonna be designed for a lot of different stuff.
