Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Honda Fit

Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Curt Cargo Hitch Carrier on a 2018 Honda Fit. Now, as you can see this cargo hauler holds quite a bit of space. You see our cooler here. It's got raised walls here that come in at about, well, let's check, 5 1/2 inches.



Curt Roof Basket Review - 2016 Honda Fit

Today on our 2016 Honda Fit we're going to be doing a test on the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, that's part number C18115. I already have it loaded up on the Honda Fit just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. Anytime you load up anything on the roof of your vehicle, you always want to be sure you leave just enough room so you can still open up your rear hatch. As you can see here, we've got it in the right spot, we don't have to worry about that problem. We can still open up our rear hath all the way. A few things to know about this roof mounted basket, is it has a sturdy steel tubular construction design to it, it's a little bit boxier than your average roof mounted cargo basket but, that's okay. We're going to be able to carry a lot more cargo.



Thule Roof Basket Review - 2016 Honda Fit

Today on our 2016 Honda Fit, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Canyon XT roof mounted cargo basket. That's part #TH859XT. I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like. A few things to know about this cargo basket, it measures 49in long by 40in wide and 6in deep, here, at the very center. Like putting on anything on the roof of your vehicle, you always want to be sure you leave just enough room so you can still open your rear hatch. Obviously, as you could see, we're not going to have that problem by the way we have it mounted.



Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2016 Honda Fit

Today on our 2016 Honda Fit, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rhino-Rack Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket, and that's part number RMCB. I've already got it loaded up, just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like on the roof of our Honda Fit. It measures 47 inches long, by 35 inches wide, and it's about 5 1/2 inches deep. Now, like any time you're carrying something on your roof, or mounting something on your roof, you want to be sure you leave enough room so you can still open up your rear hatch. As you can see by the way we have it positioned, we're not going to have that problem. Now, it has 165-pound weight capacity, though you'll want to be sure and check with your Honda Fit to see if your roof can carry that much. You'll need to be sure, with whatever roof rack system you have on there, you have a crossbar spread between 21 and 30 inches.



Surco Products Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Honda Fit

Today on our 2015 Honda Fit, we're going to be doing a test fit of the twenty by forty-eight surco cargo carrier for your inch and a quarter receivers. This is going to have a three-hundred pound weight capacity and it's sturdy steel construction. Part number 52017. Let's go ahead and get it fitted onto our vehicle. First thing we'll do is insert the shank into the receiver and line up the pinholes. With our pinholes lined up, let's insert our hitch pin and clip. Now we'll go ahead and get some measurements, starting with our closest distance first, which in this case is going to be from the front of the rack to the backside of the bumper. That's going to be about three and seven-eighths inches.



Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Honda Fit

Today on our 2012 Honda Fit well be test fitting the Curt 20 by 48 cargo carrier, part number C18145. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch tube, align the threaded pin hole, well thread our anti-rattle bolt through the threaded pin hole and tighten it with a wrench. Now lets go over some clearance measurements so you can see how this carrier and this vehicle fit together. There is about 6 inches of ground clearance from the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 2 inches. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicles exhaust tip is about 6 inches.



Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Honda Fit

Today on our 2012 Honda Fit, we'll be test fitting the Curt 20" x 48" cargo carrier, part number C18145. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten with a wrench. Now with our Curt cargo carrier secured to our Honda Fit, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 8" of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Honda Fit is here at the rear bumper, about 2-1/2" away. We've added about 22" to the overall length of the vehicle.
