Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2017 Ford Focus

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have Yakima SkyBox NX 16 roof-mounted cargo box, we'll take a look at how it fits on this 2017 Ford Focus. Maybe you need a little bit more cargo space for your Ford Focus. I usually see this happening when you have a large road trip planned and you have your friends and your family inside your vehicle. Where are you gonna put all of your stuff Well, a rooftop box like this can come in handy, especially the NX 16. This is designed for those larger items, so like those suitcases or big duffle bags. But before you go any further, make sure you have a roof rack first.

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Ford Focus

Today on our 2017 Nissan Rogue we're doing a test fit of the CURT 24 by 60 cargo carrier. That part number is C18152. Now this is designed to work with 2" hitches only and has a 500 pound weight capacity. Want to start off with our ground clearance here. We're going to have about 13-3/4". Overall to our vehicle we're going to have about 30-1/2".

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford Focus

Today in 2012 Ford Focus, we're going to be taking a look at the 20 by 48 curt cargo carrier for an inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number C18110. This has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds but also has a mesh floor on the bottom which makes it easy to clean and it has these points all the way around the border of the cargo carrier and those serve as tie down points for either your racket straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. To our average here, we've added about 26 and a half inches to the rear of the vehicle. Our ground clearance from the bottom of this bolt is going to be about 13 inches. Now our closest point, this edge here is going to be about six and a half inches. Now the exhaust on this vehicle is going to be on the passenger side but it faces down and since this has a bend on the shank to kind of prop it up, it shouldn't be too much of a problem, plus it's about 14 inches from the cargo carrier itself. Really you wouldn't worry too much about putting any heat sensitive material into your cargo carrier.
