Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Equinox

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2019 Chevy Equinox we're gonna be showing you how to install the Road Master 12 Volt Outlet Kit. But, before we do that let's check it out and make sure that this is gonna be something that you're actually gonna need. So underneath your driver's side dashboard here we have our 12 volt outlet. And that's what it's gonna look like once it's installed. Now, the whole reason for this or the big reason that you would need this, is if you're flat towing your vehicle and you've decided to use a portable type braking system.



Optronics 12 Volt DC Outlet Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Optronics Marine Grade 12 Volt DC Outlet, rated at 150 watts and 12 amps; part number A-101M. To assist with the installation, in order to lengthen the wire, I'm going to be using some 16 gauge wire, Part number 16-1-1. I'm going to be using the Deca Heat Shrink Butt Connectors for 14 and 16 gauge wire; part number DW05744-5. Then also going to be using 2 ring terminals, part number DW05705-1. Here's what it looks like once it's installed on t vehicle. As you can see it can be tucked up nicely out of the way, but it does a good job with the little cap that snaps over the top to provide 12 volt power wherever you may want to mount this so that you've got it. You can use this in your car, such as on this application.



Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster 12 volt outlet kit for 20 amps, part number RM-9332. Here's what it looks like once it's installed. This will be a great additional outlet, should you need an outlet for a supplemental braking system that plugs into a 12 volt outlet or if you're going to put a spotlight, some kind of emergency light, or a cell phone. You can locate this anywhere this in your car you'd like, as long as it's on the inside of the vehicle and it's going to be good for up to a 20 amp drop. There's going to be a very simple install. You're going to have a ground wire and you're going to tap into a fuse that's hot on your vehicle at all times. This is going to give us constant power even when our battery's disconnected in tow mode so you want to make sure if you leave something plugged in there, it can run your battery low so keep an idea of what you've got to have plugged in there.
