Interior Lights Not Working in a New Trailer with 7 Pin Wiring Harness on a 2002 Jeep Liberty- It sounds like you may need to install a fuse in the fuse block under the hood on your 2002 Jeep Liberty to get the 12 volt power circuit at the OEM 7-Way connector to work. - It sounds like there is a short in the tail light circuit, which is the brown wire in the 4-way trailer harness.
Using a circuit tester like the Quickee Circuit tester, part # 3808, I would check the brown wire on the 4-way connector at the back of your vehicle for voltage while the running lights are being used on your tow vehicle.
