Grease Cap and and Double Lip Seal for Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84546UC3- For a single grease cap for hub # 84546UC3 you can use # F001518. The grease cap being slightly larger in diameter than the hub bore is normal to create a tight fit.
Grease seal # 58846 is a single lip. Single lip seals do not keep grease in as well as double lip seals. For double lip you would use # RG06-050 for a pair.

Replacement Wheels for 1988 Jayco J-750 with Proper Pilot Diameter- Since your existing wheels use lug bolts instead of lug nuts, we refer to them a hub-centric rather than lug centric. A lug centric wheel is supported the wheel studs, which means that the studs not only function to keep the wheels in place, but they also bear the vertical load of the trailer.
In contrast, with a hub-centric wheel, the lug bolts hold the wheel in place, but the vertical load of the trailer is primarily supported by the portion of the hub that passes through the pilot hole of

How to Select New Brakes and Hubs for a Load Rite Boat Trailer- The 2,600 lb axles on your Load Rite boat trailer are likely de-rated 3,500 lb axles, so you should have no problem using 3,500 lb brakes and drums. The important factor to consider in this situation is that the brakes match the brake mounting flange on your axle and that the hubs/drums match your spindles.
Almost all 3,500 lb brake assemblies require a 4-bolt brake mounting flange. The bolt holes on the brake mounting flange should be 2-7/8 inches apart on center. If your brake mounting fla

Will Trailer Hub and Drum # 84546UC3-EZ Fit an ALKO 3500 Pound Axle- I read through the other question you sent and I can clear some things up for you. First, the ALKO axle brake mounting flanges have a different bolt pattern than do Dexter or similar assemblies when you go up to a 12 inch brake assembly and that is why they will not fit ALKO axles. The top mounting holes on an ALKO mounting flange are wider than they are on a Dexter.
But on a 10x2-1/4 inch brake assembly the 4 bolt pattern should be the same. So you can use other 10x2-1/4 inch assemblies on

Can a Trailer Wheel have a Larger Center Hole than the Hub- There are 2 different ways that a wheel secures to a hub. Either it secures to the hub using lug nuts or it secures to the wheel with wheel bolts.
Wheels that attach using lug nuts can have a larger pilot hole because the wheel is centered using the lug nuts. The pilot hole cannot be smaller on the wheel though.
If the wheel secures using lug bolts then it has to be an exact fit because the wheel centers on the hub itself and the bolts just hold it in place. If you do have this type of whe

How to Determine the Weight Capacity of a Dexter Hub and Axle- Based on your bearing dimensions, I think Dexter meant to say that the replacement hub for you is a 6-lug hub rated for a 5,200 lb axle, not that it is a 5,200 lb hub. Your axle is likely rated for 5,200 lbs, especially since the axle tubing has a 3-1/2 inch diameter. I have not heard of a hub with a 6-lug bolt pattern for a 10,000 lb axle or a 10,000 lb axle with 3-1/2 inch diameter tubing.

New Trailer Wheel Center Pilot Hole is Larger than Old Wheel Center Pilot Hole- On some wheel and hubs the center pilot hole has to be the exact size of outer hub bore. This is because the wheels are hub centric meaning they center on the hub rather than the lug holes. Hub centric wheels and hubs will use wheel bolts and not lug nuts.
If the wheel centers on the hub using lug nuts (the studs are mounted in the hub) then having a larger pilot hole on the wheel is fine.

Difference Between Idler Hubs and Hub/ Drums- The Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly you referenced, part # 34822BX is known as an idler hub. An idler is a hub that is no provisions for trailer brakes. It has no brake drum.
Part # 8-276-5 is an example of a hub/ drum that has a brake drum that can be used with a brake assembly like part # 23-47.
The 34822BX would be an acceptable replacement for an idler hub with a 4-on-4 bolt pattern that uses # L44643 bearings.

How To Measure the Bolt Pattern on a 15 Inch Wheel With 5 Lug Bolt Holes- When measuring to determine the bolt pattern of a wheel with an odd number of lugs, like a 5 lug wheel, you are basically measuring the diameter of a circle that would run through the center of each lug hole.
If you are measuring the wheel the easiest way is to measure the distance between the center of one lug hole to the center of the lug hole adjacent to it, then look on the chart and if that measurement is 2-5/8 inches the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2. If it measures 3 inches the bolt patte

Does Hub/ Drum Need to Be Replaced if Armature Surface is Grooved- Because the face of the magnet rides against the armature surface (inside surface) of the brake drum, any grooves that had previously been worn into the armature surface will cause the magnet to wear unevenly. For optimal braking performance, you want maximum contact between the face of the magnet and the armature surface of the brake drum. If the drum itself got too hot, you might see some blue discoloration on the armature surface. In extreme cases, the armature surface can warp.

Can a Harbor Freight Boat Trailer with 4.80x8 Tires be Switched to 175/80-13 Trailer Tires- There are several things to consider when switching to larger tires and wheels on a trailer.
