Replacing a Double-Eye Leaf Spring that is 53 Inches Long on an Old Utility Trailer- Since you want to go to much shorter springs it will require welding on new hangers just so you are aware. The PR4B spring you reference can be used with many hanger kits. The one that is going to give you the most clearance is # APS4 at 5 inches.
At this time we do not have u-bolt plates or u-bolts for a 3 inch square axle. If you already have these items and they are in good shape you could re-use them. The spring you currently have might be an automotive spring which means this might be a

Can a Rear Hanger that is Wider than the Trailer Frame be Still be Used- The reason that the hanger is wider is most likely because double-eye springs are 1-3/4 inches wide. But as long as the hangers you are using are welded to the bottom of the frame as much as they possibly can be it will be fine. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder.

Are the Rubber Springs in the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension Systems Available Separately- The heavy duty hollow rubber springs in the Timbren Axle-Less suspension system # A12WS440 are going to last at least as long as traditional leaf springs. Since they are rubber and not steel they are more corrosion resistant and if properly maintained the system could outlast a traditional set up. There is no official mile or year count on the springs or system since there are so many variables to factor in (weather, load, area traveled in, storage, and so on).

Will Changing Leaf Springs Help Unloaded Ride Quality of a Trailer- The problem is that in order for the trailer to have the overall capacity it needs to carry what the trailer is rated for it needs to have a very stiff spring. Building a Trailer to Replace a 1997 Chariot Marine Custom Built Boat Trailer- The number of leaves in a spring is not really relevant to a springs capacity. there are single leaf springs that have a higher capacity than a 4 or 5 leaf spring. It depends on the design and thickness of the steel along with other factors that determine the capacity. Having a higher capacity spring would not increase the capacity of the trailer because the axle rating is set in stone and you always go by the lowest rated component in the system.
Since the axles are rated for 4,100 pounds ea

Should Suspension Shackle Straps Angle Towards the Front or Rear of a Trailer- The distance between the spring eyes on center for # PR4B is 25-1/4 inches. When using hanger kit # APS5 the distance on center between the hangers with this spring is 25-3/4 inches, a 1/2 inch longer. This is correct. The hanger spacing should be longer and the bottom of the shackle strap should angle towards the front. Once there is weight on the suspension the angle of the shackle will change.

Hanger Spacing Recommendations for a Triple Axle Trailer with 25-1/4 inch Springs- I did some checking and it looks like on springs that are 25-1/4 inches in length measured from eye to eye you will want the distance from the first hanger to the second to be 29-1/2 inches, from the second hanger to the third you will need it to measure 34 inches and from the third to the fourth 29-1/2 inches.
This measurement is from center to center of the hangers. Check out the pictures I attached that show

Can Trailer Suspension Hangers Be Bolted on- You will want to weld the hangers of the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APS1. The holes you see are not designed to have bolts run through them. If you did run bolts they would most likely interfere with the spring and how it would sit on the hanger.
I would recommend you have a qualified welder do this for you.

Replacing Leaf Spring Recommendation for a 2004 Weekend Warrior Super Lite FK 2100- Since you have dual axles you will split the overall capacity of your trailer between the two axles. So you would not want a double eye leaf spring set for 8,000 lbs even if we made one because that would be way overkill for your setup.
The closest spring sets that we offer would be the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # PR4. This spring has an axle capacity of 4,800 lbs, so when you double that because of your dual axle setup you end up with a capacity of 9,600 lbs which is more than the 8,000 lb ra

Is there a Specific Torque Rating for Trailer Suspension Bolts- If we are talking about shackle bolts that hold the leaf springs to the hangers then they do not have to be super tight if you use a lock nut. You will be looking at about 65 to 95 foot pounds of torque. That is for 9/16 inch bolts. Here is a short chart for common suspension bolt sizes:
1/2 inch Bolts: 45 ft/lbs - 70 ft/lbs
9/16 inch Bolts: 65 ft/lbs - 95 ft/lbs

Is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System a Good Choice for a Motorcycle Trailer- The Timbren suspension system, like # A20RS440, is designed to be toe-in when there is no load on it. So when the load is placed on it it will push the tire out so that it is riding straight on the ground. Provided the trailer is not overloaded and the tires are trailer tires and inflated to the maximum psi as indicated on the tire, then you should not see excessive wear and get more than just a few thousand miles out of a set.
