Expert Answers about Performance Chip

  • What Should the Shift Pressure be Set At Using a Superchips Cortex on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche
  • I spoke to my contact at Superchips about the Cortex tuner # SU2950 and the shift pressure on your 2008 Chevy Avalanche. He stated that it all depends on your personal preference. He recommended maxing it out, try it, and if it shifts too hard for your liking back it down. The harder it is set the more efficient it will be. The Superchips Value setting is an option and is just where they think it should be for a given vehicle. But ultimately it comes down to what you want.

  • Will the Edge Programmer # EP85150 Work on a 2004 Chevy 2500 with a 6.0 Gas Motor
  • Yes, the Edge Evolution CS Programmer # EP85150 will work on your 2004 Chevy Silverado with a 6.0 gas motor. It should also work well with the cold air intake. Edge claims a gain of 15 horse power and 15 ft on stock vehicles, so with a cold air intake you may see even more as these programmers work very well with cold air intakes. You will also be able to recalibrate your speedometer to compensate for the different size tires you have now.

  • Recommendations for Horsepower and Torque Increase On 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 6.0
  • We do have a product that will help increase the torque and horsepower of your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 6.0, but the Edge Insight CTS # EP83830 is not equipped to do that as it is not a performance-enhancing device. It provides the driver with various vehicle data only. For a product that will provide the gains you are looking for, I recommend the Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Tuner # BY40410GMC. This product allows you to choose from 3 different settings that will allow your vehicle to increa

  • Performance Programmer Recommendation for a 2011 Chevy Silverado with 5.3 Liter Engine
  • To me, the best bang for the buck is going to be the Bully Dog Triple Dog, # BY40410GMC. It can add as much as 35 horsepower and 40 foot pounds of torque. It is also a comprehensive gauge display, and the driving coach program will help maximize full economy. It is only a little more money than the Cortex but has more features. I have included a link to the installation details for the Bully Dog for you. You can read up and compare the different programmers available on our site. I have inclu

  • Is Better Fuel Economy and Smoother Shifting Gained with the Edge Programmer on a 2005 Suburban
  • I did some calculations for you that may help with your decision to purchase a performance programmer based on fuel mileage increase. Many Edge customers see mileage gains of 4 to 5 miles per gallon when using the programmer, # EP85150, in the economy mode on their vehicle. I would say that it is a safe bet to say you will gain at least 2 miles per gallon in the economy mode. At 2 miles per gallon, your increase would be 12.5 percent. Lets say you go from 16 to 18 MPG. With a 30 gallon fill u

  • Will A Programmer, Cold Air Intake, and Exhaust Add Low End Torque to a 2003 Chevy Suburban 1500
  • Adding the Edge Evolution CTS Programmer, # EP85250, will definitely help with towing in any terrain by maximizing transmission shifting efficiency while in the Towing setting. In the Towing setting the engine is tuned to provide optimum power when it is most needed to tow a load. Other settings will offer more horsepower, but for your situation to optimize low end torque, the Towing setting is best. You can see gains of up to 35 horsepower and foot pounds of torque, but every engine and dri
