Expert Answers about Fifth Wheel Installation Kit

  • 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Install Kit for a 2008 Ford F-250 Towing a 2012 Keystone Cougar
  • The first thing you are going to need in your 2008 Ford F-250 is an installation kit. There are different installation kits available. You could use a universal kit like # RP30035. Universal kits require more drilling and take longer to install. What I recommend is a custom kit like # RP50082-58. Custom kits come with custom fit brackets to fit the specific frame design on your truck. This means less drilling is required and installation takes about half the time compared to a universal kit.

  • 5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2008 Toyota Tundra with a 6-1/2 ft Bed
  • The weight capacity of a fifth wheel hitch has no impact on the fit for your 2008 Toyota Tundra. The fit issues that you will need to consider when selecting a fifth wheel hitch is the installation kit and if the hitch is a sliding fifth wheel hitch or a fixed fifth wheel hitch. We offer universal and custom installation kits for your Tundra. I have attached a link to all of them for you to check out. Since your truck has a 6-1/2 ft bed, we strongly recommend using a sliding fifth wheel

However, we cannot recommend mixing rail and bracket manufacturers because they have not been tested together and the capacity will be unknown. I recommend using a Reese custom 5th wheel installation kit for your 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. Custom kits install in less time and require less drilling for installation when compared to semi-custom or universal kits. The correct R

  • To determine if the clearance is going to be an issue you will want to measure from the center of the trailer hitch jaws straight back to the end of the tail gate when down. Then compare that to the distance from the center of the king pin on the trailer straight back to the trailer overhang (or where ever it might contact the lowered tail gate). With these measurements it should become clear if there will be an issue. You mentioned having a pin extension. If it is anything like the Reese Re
